I don´t think it will be an animated PV. Anyway, the fact that there is a -making clip- does´t mean that the PV won´t be animated. It could be a making containing some Tales of Xillia making footage, Ayu visiting the company offices etc

Honestly speaking, I wouldn't mind an animated PV as long as it features ayupan :P
But that's probably never gonna happen XD

I think on the album we get a real PV but i wouldn't be surprised if a game pv shows up as some special sometime

I hope the PV's are not boring, not saying they are bad if they are. Example: Crossroad, I love the PV but not much is going on in it. I hope they stay as good as what Love song/Last angel/do it again PV's were. PV's that make you want to finish's watching it all no matter how many times you've seen it :P

I don't want them like Love songs PV but more on keeping with how theirs more story to the PV's. do it again has a interesting background which develops through the song but the ending was a bit of a disappointment for me but compared to Crossroad, when shes basically in one room sitting. Its still a good PV but I can live without seeing it for awhile

I'd love to see more epic PVs. In my opinion, BALLAD, momentum and Virgin Road were really memorable.

most of the PVs tend to be good for a minute or two and then fizzle into boring oblivion.

I loved love song/last angel PVs, interesting and kept you guessing.

do it again was a bit boring though, could have done so much more with that backdrop.

if progress has a short version..then it'll only have the ballad part of it..LOL..that would be quite weird

they just ruin everything with the short versions, it doesn't leave me in "suspense" or anything like that, it makes me angry, anxious and disappointed.

It's the crappiest way to spoil things.


So, if we do get short versions, I'm gonna ignore them and wait to get my copy.

Worst promotion ever.

I hate to admit it but I think this might be a big turning point in Ayu's career. We all know sales are declining, everyone's are and considering her time in the business. But she has yet to hit a low and "bounce" back. Namie was unpopular for a while right? I just feel this album with as little promo as it has gotten, will not appeal to the masses. There are no singles, and that's what draws in the casual fans. Plus, we know there has been many questions like "...huh?" when it comes to Ayu and all the collaborations this time around (on record and on stage) so not all hardcore fans are looking at this as just another Ayu album they can't wait to get. Some might choose to skip this album altogether (I cannote afford it). But yes I am looking forward to the album as I do any other release. But I'm just trying to make a point as to why I believe this will be a low point in sales for Ayu.

Maybe the Tales of thing will work for something.

Not to start an argument or anything, but isn't that redundant then...since a Singles Compilation would literally be what it is, and tracks from FIVE would be on A BEST 3 when it's released? It's not like time can be turned back and singles that weren't placed on A BEST would be put back on again, lol.

FIVE doesn't feel like an album at all. It feels like a big single. I probably won't even buy it ever, even though I buy all of her albums (and I consider Memorial address an album). :x

Think they should have used the term "EP" for this one. I would understand the use of mini-album if most of her full albums only had like 9-10 songs, but her albums have 14-16 tracks. 5 tracks is only 1/3 of that amount. It only has 1 more new song than A / & and they're still considered singles. Cheap marketing ploy. It's not even recieiving appropriate hype or promotion if they really want to call it a "mini-album."

It's like there's not enough songs for it to be called a mini-album, yet too many songs to be called a single. Wonder why she couldn't just release a triple a-side with progress and save the other 2 songs for the next album.

The Japanese market doesn't use the term EP anymore. Just like the western market barely uses the term single any more. Mini-album is a far more commonly used word for Japanese releases, and there are many mini-albums with 5 or 6 tracks.

But, I also think that this release shouldn't be promoted as a mini-album. However, my assumption for why she's doing this is to postpone the release of a new full album so she may continue to promote Love Songs during Countdown 11/12 (and possibly next year's tour). Love Songs + FIVE gives her nearly a full set list to perform, whereas if she released a new album, she'd be forced to promote newer material and ditch any ideas for had for Love Songs' tracks.

EP = mini-album in Japan.

So if there's enough tracks for an EP, there's enough tracks to term this release a mini-album in Japan.

This is definitely not a single. "single" is supposed to mean one song. The Japanese tend to slap the term "single" on any release with 1-2 original songs, then "maxi-single" is there's 3-4 original songs, and mini-album for 5-8 songs.

Don't really see what's so controversial about it. She had enough material for 5 songs this time around, why not release all at once? She releases for her fans now, not to make fantastic sales. 5 songs, 5 PVs, I think it's a pretty sweet package.

My bet would be that she is taking some time for herself... So, she can finish the tour, do the cdl as usual and have a low profile schedule to see her husband or whatever she feels like doing...

I guess her contract makes her release one album a year, so, a mini album is a way to have some free time..

It's not a controversial release to me.

she'll release this album, in September she'll be busy with TV and magazines, in October she'll have to finish her tour. And in November she can have a rest with her husband in LA or somewhere else. And in the end of December she'll be back for Christmas shows, Kouhaku and CDL.

and then it will be new year, new singles, new album.. oh, how I wish she'd give a birth to a child instead of a new releses :think

I'm amazed in how many people drove crazy because of the collaborations or even because it's a mini-album.
I was expecting a single, so I'm pretty much satisfied with what I have now.
It's just so strange see people treating Ayu as a slave, who needs to do what her fans wants to and not get a rest sometimes or try something different...

It's mostly because other than the screenshots, BRILLANTE is relatively mysterious. I wonder what it'll end up sounding like. I don't think anyone is hyping it necessarily, but everyone wants to know more as soon as possible since we've basically heard a bit of everything else so far.

Same thing with Sexy little things for me (and Lady Dynamite for that matter). The PV screenshots were SO PROMISING and then the music came out and I was like "you have got to be kidding me..." I learned a valuable lesson during that release and since then, I never put expectations on releases.
