I've never been this disappointed with them. I honestly can't believe this is happening. I knew SM was cheap but this is taking it too far.

what even .. Performing it in the comeback stage was one thing, but as the repackage?

I'm trying to understand that they didn't have time to record new tracks BUT WHO'S FAULT IS IT THAT THEY SLEEP TWO HOURS A DAY. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE SOME TIME FOR THE RECORDING STUDIO OR THE PRACTICE ROOM? WHAT IS THIS ****ERY.

What's the point of a repackage if there are no new songs on it? How is just changing the cover of the album and promoting an old song going to motivate people to buy this? As someone who didn't buy the album and waited for the repackage and avoided playing the album much so I wouldn't overplay the songs before I received a physical copy of the repackaged version, I'm very disappointed. And also, what ever happened to the worldwide release of their physical maxi single? We were told that it was originally going to be released on the 19th yet it's not out and only speculations have been made about the release date with no official announcement. At this point, I'm not even excited about either release any more. This is unacceptable.

Boomerang was the song they filmed a MV and prepared to release instead/before Gee but there were legal problems so it was scrapped and they went ahead with Gee. It's not a new song or anything like that...

I guess SM are too lazy/cheap to prepare new choreography. The girls know how to perform it..

pissed about the repackage thing O_O couldn't they just add one single new song?! I'm not asking for much or anything, just one song would be enough...

What's even more upsetting about the repackage thing is that they're not even choosing one of the awesome songs on the album as a follow-up track. Imagine how awesome it would be if they released a repackage with TRICK (yes I'm obsessed with it ok) as the title and did a whole Britney Spears 'Circus' era/Kuu 'TRICK' era concept, the choreography can include magic tricks too and everything! If the song is never performed at concerts then someone in SM needs to get fired :grumpy.
OSCAR, Telepathy, VITAMIN, and Say Yes would be great choices as well. I would suggest TOP SECRET too but they already did the whole spy thing with Hoot.

To be honest, I'm not that disappointed. If we get a hot MR. TAXI style cover and the song moved higher up on the album (to track 1-3) then I'm all for this. MR. TAXI's the best song on the album, Japanese remake or not, so it deserves success in Korea as well, and I'd love to see a new video for the Korean version. I just hope they change the video up and don't just do the exact same thing for this version, although I'm totally fine with a cover and photobook styled after the outfits of the Japanese PV. I already bought The Boys so I'm glad to know it wouldn't have made a difference in my purchasing decision if I had waited for this announcement.

On a negative note though: yeah, it does sound like serious trolling. A repackage with not a single new song? That's just weird, and even lazier than T-ARA's "Roly Poly in Copacabana".

i actually wish their follow up song isn't MR TAXI. i wish it to be a new song on the album.
and i really hope there will be new songs on the album or remix version.

anyway, the girls won two awards tonight at MAMA: Artist of the year and Best female group.

Just as I did not purchase "The Boys", I will not be purchasing the "Mr. Taxi" version of this album either. If the release schedule for this album is anything like their labelmates Super Junior, there will be a repackaged edition (this is not being advertised as a repackage, it's a Mr. Taxi VERSION of their previously released album) released at a later date.

according to Yesasia, it's a repackage album lols.

^The Korean websites that Soshified has quoted as sources for their information regarding this album only refer to it as a version and not a repackage. So unless a reliable source (most likely a known and reliable Korean website) specifically calls it a repackage, I will be disregarding YesAsia's description until further notice, lol. If this album turns out to be their "repackage", I will order it at a later date but I'm definetely going to wait it out first. I put nothing past the greed of SM and I'm sure if they would release 2 versions of an album and a repackage for Super Junior, there's not much doubt in my mind that they could possibly do it for SNSD as well. I hope it doesn't become a new pattern with them though.

although I don't like Mr. TAXI in Korean, them performing in those outfits on the cover definitely makes me hate it less. they're a million times better than their yellow ones they used for Japan.

Anyone else extremely disappointed the Japan concert is lipsynched? I would've bought the blu-ray in a heartbeat if it were actually live. They all have great voices (maybe not Yoona), so I have no idea why they did that. Is the Asia tour from last year lipsynched too? If it isn't, I'll just buy that one.

i guess that most of them were still not so fluent in Japanese also they did quite number of dance songs on the concert, so they lipsynched, only left with slow-pace songs or ballads they sang live.

i think SME was too fast to ask them to go for asia tour in Japan where their Japanese isn't the best yet. but then, nothing can't be done since maybe in Japan the demand of them doing concert tours is high.

as for their korean concert, i've watched it, for me they didn't lipsynch a lot, maybe 1-3 dance songs.

there are only a few songs that they performed with lipsynch from last year's asia tour, I bought this one and I enjoyed it though they didn't perform some of my favorite songs..

I'm pretty sure they recorded their Japanese stuff reading romaji or a Hangul equilevant, it's pretty obvious from their pronoucation.

I still lol over the "Kuse ni naru wa" in Genie.

Yeah, they lipsynch sooooo much nowadays. To me it's annoying since I know they can sing well live. They even managed to sing Into The New World well live and that choreography is pretty draining.

Now this is flawless.

This should have been a double A-side single release instead of a repackage of their first Japanese album. It could have been "The Boys" (Japanese Version)/ "New Song" with the remixes as b-sides with the DVD content containing "The Boys" (Japanese version) MV and the "BAD GIRL" MV (even with a dance version of "The Boys"). The new song's MV could be released on their future Japanese album with the original version and a dance version on the album DVD (like how they did Mr. Taxi).

That's it! From here on out, I'm going to be very careful when it comes to supporting Girls' Generation with my money. No more buying anything of theirs on day one since they feel the need to repackage everything! :irked

Well, they probably will release the new stuff as a single, similar to what Chiaki Kuriyama is doing with the Tsukiyo no Shozo single and the "deluxe edition" (read: repackage) of CIRCUS, it's just that the single will likely be missing something that's only available on the album. Like, it may have the Japanese PV for "The Boys" but it probably won't have the PV for "BAD GIRL". :/

I really, really, really hope that Japan isn't going to adopt the practice of repackaging albums. :S

they had a brilliant career in Japan, and now they're going to start with the stupid repackage !!!
They should do a new single like AyusakiFan said, but obviously is better a repackage album because is more expensive and they only have to include a new song and remix, and the yens are raining from the sky !!

Another Japanese group just recently re-released an album with one new song on it.

^It looks like they're trying to give people enough reason to buy the album again by giving new mixes to previously released tracks, adding new songs, and not repeating the DVD content.

I don't know if it's any better than what repackages usually are but I'm sure it'll assuage some fans who'll see it as a complimentary release rather than a total supersede of the previous version.

What an odd tracklisting. It doesn't make much sense in terms of flow, but who knows, maybe it'll sound really good altogether. The remixes are very exciting, as is Time Machine. I'm sad about the DVD not including the previous videos too though. The promo's just alright, but hopefully the actual covers will look better. But yeah...totally buying this.

EDIT: Preorder links are already up on Amazon Japan. I just preordered :D
