I just really hope that whatever is in the boxset is worth it. I want something that really lets me justify spending $210 on it. lol

I drank my tea, it was quite bitter and had a kind of musty rice smell to it. Not at all unpleasant, but I don't drink it often. Rather have a cup of matcha tea. :yes

I only drank the tea from the AT10 goodies tea+cookies in cans, I was hoping for Japanese green tea but it was the most common black tea which we have plenty here xD

We usually get covers a few weeks before release. However, they did something kind of new and announced the unconfirmed tracklist in a random order. They probably were not done with it but wanted to give fans something to look forward to. It's the way her team has done it for a WHILE now and I don't see them changing it any time soon. They're probably going to reveal the complete tracklist + covers + POWER of MUSIC covers + Party Queen photobook cover + etc. all at once at some point in time. Maybe on March 1st since it'd have been a month since the news broke about the new album?

even though its all new material, a 10 song album is a pretty hollow effort by her standards, especially when her last few albums have been 12 or more full songs. With only 10 songs, the interludes feel like they come too fast and interrupt the flow (like with NEXT LEVEL).

I wouldn't call it a hollow effort necessarily but if she started earlier she may have been able to do more songs. If there are only 10 full tracks, that's 10 tracks done in the span of about a month which is quite a bit. Compare it to the ratio of single/album tracks of previous albums and it's quite a bit more than normal except for maybe MY STORY.

MY STORY - 4 single tracks - 13 new tracks - 10 new songs (however she worked on this album for almost a year it seems)
(miss)understood - 8 single tracks - 8 new tracks - 6 new songs

It's basically on par with MY STORY in terms of new material. If the album had singles, we'd probably have one or two additional tracks, but well... that's not the case. It would've been rather interesting if she included FIVE to total 19 tracks, but people would be pisssssed.

I remember when MY STORY came out, the crazy amount of new songs being leaked one-by-one was so exciting and overwhelming. I hope the hidden track isn't Happening Here, just because it'd be cool to have one that we wouldn't even know the name of until she announced it.

Why would you count new album tracks that we know about as 'not new'? They were probably done at around the same time as all of the other London tracks so it makes sense imo.

As for MY STORY's release... that really was super exciting BUT it was one of the most dramatic release periods I've ever seen from Ayu because people were leaving the fandom left and right because of how much they hated what they were hearing.

Would you count Together When... as a single? It was released early on, but it's basically a glorified album track imo. For how beautiful you are, I suppose they want to strike while the drama is still going on to capitalize on the 'free promotion' which explains the earlier release but it still doesn't make it a 'single', I think.

I would count HBYA or PQ as new songs. I mean yeah, we've heard the live versions - but they never do the recordings justice. It's not like I'm gonna sit there and listen to live leaks for 3 months.

I think that it's one of those things that's really a technicality. Ayu's camp doesn't really recognize digital singles as 'actual singles' which is why they don't have a designation along with her usual singles. As far as I know, we got the information about the how beautiful you are digital single release -at the same time- as the information about the new album. Looking back, it was the same case for Together When... but for some reason, information for the album was delayed due to being placed on TeamAyu and then removed as soon as it was up.

IMO, if you look back a few years and you have to wonder if something was a single or not, it wasn't really a single to begin with. I'm sure there are people who still don't know that how beautiful you are is a single and just assume that it was released early. There's also other songs we've gotten rather early from various sources (Love song, progress, Microphone, etc.) at about the same time as these digital singles, they just weren't publicly released.

True, but the way she does her albums has basically been the same for every album except MY STORY. Release singles and then work on an album for a month or two. The results seem to vary a lot though, or at least the reaction to what ends up coming from those efforts varies QUITE a bit from album to album.

Even if it was quickly put together, she probably worked just as hard as she did for other albums (except maybe NEXT LEVEL which lacked direction since she seemed to throw whatever she felt together at the time).

It's been a long time since I've listened to any Ayu albums so I think I'm going to do this as well. I think I'm going to listen to them once all in order in preparation for the new album to get me more in the "Ayu mood" lol. It's been a long time coming anyways and this is the perfect opportunity.

I hope we get covers or at least a finalized tracklist soon. Or Avex informing us of what exactly is going to be in the limited box set!

^^I don't mind 14 tracks....I tend to like the albums with 15 tracks like RAINBOW, or MY STORY with 17 tracks haha...but 14 is cool, as long as the rumored four interludes is FAKE. Two preferred, three is more likely, but 4 would be just another GUILTY, and I really don't want that!

Content is usually what tips the scale for me, but how many J-pop collectors never crack the seal on their physical copies--opting to download the aforementioned content instead? I suppose if you're getting the physical copy for display purposes anyway, you might as well base your purchase on which looks the best.

It's because how many times are you really going to listen to that physical copy? In today's age of iPod's and media players, where everything is digital, there really is no point in owning a "CD" that gets no use. But if the packaging is nice looking, it really feels like money well spent then. Otherwise if you have the rip on your mp3/PC, and the cover is atrocious, what good is it doing sitting there - you aren't gonna listen to the CD and you aren't gonna look at that fugly coverart.

I resisted once for Love songs, just because I had enough money to get the limited edition from CDJapan and use FedEx. So I got the album few days after release day.

There's nothing wrong choosing an album depending on what cover you like if you keep CDs unopened on shelves. As long as you're supporting Ayu and love her music, there's nothing stupid about it :shrug seriously. Covers are made for attract, first. Tbh I did this for Love songs, I bought the CD only too because the cover art was gorgeous :heart.

Yes there is a point to owning CDs. Why would I waste money on something digital when for a couple of extra dollars I can own something tangible? Yeah I rip the CD and never use it, but I ALWAYS prefer to have it there in a physical format. Even if the covers are "ugly", its the music that counts. Even then, most Ayu fans collect her albums, they're going to buy them regardless of what the outside looks like. Most Ayu fans like her for her music, not for her ability to take nice cover photos.

Having something in your hands to hold will always be better than something digital. On top of that, with digital music you are paying for music transcodes and usually pay premium dollar. CDs give you quality you rarely can buy digitally.

I buy her CDs because iTunes USA will never put up her new releases. Plus I'm turning into a collector. Hurry up 3/21!

While I think that all of us can agree that we would like for the album to have a nice cover, for me, it loses it's relevancy as far as it being a part of my decision to purchase the album once I become a fan of an artist. After having purchased close to 20 Ayu albums, it's become one of the least of my concerns as I'm more interested in the content than the cover. Plus, I am confident that the covers will be nice anyways because she has never disappointed me in that arena as far as album covers. Also, even though I have an Ipod, I still like to have physical copies of albums because I do use and like to own them. I listen to many artists and don't put every single album that I have on Itunes or my Ipod (my computer or Ipod would probably explode if I rip everything I have, lol). I like to listen to my CDs in the car as well so I like having them available to pop into the CD player whenever I go somewhere. :)

I was not insinuating that it's pointless, but it kind of sucks when you actually don't get physical use out of something you purchased (damn expensive too) and it's not even attractive to look at. I would never pay for digital alone - I usually buy the album AND have the digital copy on my iPod. But if the covers are God-awful, it really just angers me and actually does break the deal of if I will purchase that album or not. You can always download the album and it'd be the same quality if you ripped it yourself, but as far as beautiful cover art/packaging goes - it takes a lot more time, effort, and money to reproduce something or even print out a beautiful picture. It's not the same as having that gorgeous shoot straight from the presses.
