I find it odd that fans feel this is a money making ruse by Avex.... but A BEST 3 next year wouldn't be...

I don't think that any best is actually better than this one in "money making" lol.
Yeah it becomes rediculous when you release a compilation album most/every year of your career but thankfully it's not like this in ayu's case. |
I read the article and while it appears accurate on the surface...
She just released an album with all new content, minus one digital single. That means instead of buying 2 or more physical singles + new album with said singles included, we only needed to buy one album. Thus, we saved money. Yet now she/Avex is being accused of abusing her fandom buy "making" us buy a compilation album with one new song and all new video content. If anything, the money we saved not buying singles can be factored into this price. Singles are the true waste of money in the long run, yet people still willingly buy those. Ayu almost always includes the tracks in her singles in her albums, making the single completely unneeded after the album drops. And if the single does happen to have a remix on it, that means the remix and instrumentals now becomes a $20 investment. What I would say is more offensive is having singles released with different track lists. I mean MOON/blossom, crossroad and L were the most ridiculous releases she's done. Absolutely no reason for the way they did those than to make more money. But at least a best album serves a cause outside of her strong fan base. |

Honestly I think I'm just gonna download the new song.. If there's interesting re-arrangements I could consider buying it.. A BALLADS was worth it so maybe this one will surprise me positively?

I just really wish they would have had remixes / added in re-works a la A BALLADS. They could have stuck in there the fairyland mix from making-of slideshow DVD and also the It Was (Island Remix) - now that's a beach song if there ever was one. I always dreamed of listening to it in the middle of the lake on a sunny day and one time I was out in canoes with my buddies and we brought our iPods out and it was the most beautiful day. As I was going through my iPod trying to find a song, it hit me - that this was the moment I was waiting for. I pressed play on that remix and let me tell you... it was effing glorious.

I just wish that this cd will boost Ayu's total sales for 2012. I think that her last year's sales were around 600,000 (including 2 albums, 4 remix albums and 1 collaboration single). For this year and for now, we stand at 150,000.
I think that someone mentioned that the sales of this cd could be around 100,000. I hope it's more. And please Ayu, release a single! |

the track list include 26 songs, a lot!, so i don't think they're gonna spend money on rework something.
they're just gonna put the tracks in the cd recorded and just burn it. a BALLADS was an exepction because it was a short track list and they reworked songs that originally wasn't ballads (like M, appears, etc...) and to be honest, i don't think next year we're gonna have an A BEST 3 i think ayu is trying to do somenthing different for a compilation album...if you think about it, SUMMER BEST is a big album, 2 discs, splitted by happy and sad tracks the same way they did with A BEST 2. So the next album is gonna be WINTER BEST, and we're gonna have 4 CDs full of hits (summer and winter) and that's it. ayu doesn't have enough new hits to make two sets for this AB3 like they did with AB2, so a good way to sell 2 sets again is doing this SUMMER/WINTER (4 cds) project. |

How can people want A BEST 3 and get upset about this? It would be the same thing with different songs... the people who have all of these songs will still have most, if not all, of the songs on A BEST 3. It would still be a pointless, money grabbing release. So please tell me, what the hell makes A SUMMER BEST so terrible and A BEST 3 such a wonderful idea? I just don't get it....
