I'm not a fan of kpop at all... but only other Korean artist that's been releasing stuff at all in a long time that I'm interested in is BoA.

As for 2NE1, I've been skeptical of them lately. They just keep disappointing me over and over a lot. :(

I did the same thing. I use to be pretty YG-biased, but they've been so disappointing I've moved on to other artists. It just shows how terrible their marketing has been recently.

I don't mind reggae from them, but it might be too risky genre for a comeback song.. Since there's been quite a long break for 2NE1 they really need to blow up people's minds.

Same. I would say 2NE1 definitely got me into K-Pop (although, BoA unknowingly got me into K-Pop a long time ago, if I'm being honest lol), but now I'm branching out.

Their marketing really has been terrible. Even G-Dragon, in some recent interview (can't remember the name), was like "Yeah, Big Bang needs to put out another full album because the last full album we've had was like 2-3 years ago."

I agree with that, I think they put out too many groups. Every time I blink, there's a new boy group or a new girl group coming out and it's just like......:rolleyes

In terms of other artists, I listen to a lot of JYJ, Big Bang, and Jay Park. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that these three artists compose their own music/lyrics/etc and is not as close to mainstream K-Pop.

Obviously Big Bang is the exception out of the three, but I think it's more of the fact that they're really popular and when they try something new, it just becomes more mainstream.

I'm not saying I listen to underground Korean artists or even Indie Korean artists, because none of the artists I listed are either.

And this totally sidetracks but....I was kind of surprised no one mentioned the fact that Shinee put out that 'Why So Serious?' song like a few months after G-Dragon had the 'Why so Serious?' phrase in 'Crayon.' Now I know GD didn't invent the phrase (obviously the Joker did), but I was still like "Really? No one on Allkpop made this connection when people on Allkpop are notorious for pointing these type of things out?"

Anyway....back on track......LOL sorry:

I guess I'm just kind of surprised that 2NE1 went from like badass, independent females with songs like "I Am the Best" and "I Hate You" and now it's like "I Love You", "Be Mine," and "Falling in Love."

I know they said they'd surprise us musically, but I didn't think they'd go from being all one theme to a totally different theme.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see when this song comes out 2 years from now.

According to their latest teaser pic, 2NE1 will be performing "Falling in Love" on Inkigayo the day before their single releases. I personally think that this is a great idea to introduce the song in a live performance rather than a music video as live performances tend to bring more life to a song than a music video and may leave a better first impression. Although the song is from a genre I don't generally listen to, I hope it's done just as well as the "I DON'T CARE (REGGAE MIX)". I'm really looking forward to this long awaited comeback!

Everyone keeps talking as if they're gonna sing a reggae song in the style of Bob Marley or something. It's still going to be a majorly produced Korean pop song that will sound like 2ne1 :shrug

But it's gonna be amazing no matter what. And this better not be it for the year! ALBUM PREASE

It's not AMAZING, but the beat is hot and get's my hips moving. And i'll give it props for being a little different from what's out right now.

My Thoughts On 2NE1's "Falling In Love"

The Song: I LOVE the song. Very upbeat, fresh, fun and catchy. I'm gonna be playing this ALL summer long. Only thing I was not super fond of is the bit of auto-tuned electronic thing in the first few seconds, but it grows on you. Each of their parts are handled perfectly and you can hear the improvement in all of their vocals since their debut. While they were never bad by any means, you can tell their vocal capabilities have certainly been improving. CL's rap is FANTASTIC. I think that "The Baddest Female" song really helped her improve even further on her vocals in that area.

The Music Video: Very fun and summery. A Great watch. I just still don't care for Dara's blonde pigtails. I do however like the blonde during those shots when it's straight. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Minzy's 'pink lemonade' hair. Looks incredible on her. Makes you wanna grab a glass and join her on the dance floor. Bom's eyes look incredible in that white dress outfit she wears. I just love what she did there. And lastly, CL is just as incredible as ever. Only serious minus is the guys. I really don't like their appearance. I know its the "IN" thing for males over there right now, but it's just not really my liking. However, despite it, I can't stop watching the MV over and over!! :D

CL, Dara, Bom & Minzy: Girls, you slayed it!!! Good luck on the charts!! You already got a sale from me!!! :heart

I agree. For me, this song isn't as mind blowing as let's say, I AM THE BEST or FIRE but it's not a bad song. Hopefully the song will grow on me.
But like you said, it's different from other K-pop songs so this songs really stands out and it's a great song for the summer time!

I really like the MV. It's also perfect for summer. I am loving CL's long hair and Bom's hair. Dara looks so plain as a blonde so hopefully she'll dye her hair back to brown or black soon.

I actually like the island/reggae beat of the song, so if they had just emphasized that more and eliminated the hip-hop beat that plays along with it, I definitely would have loved the song even more.

It does remind me of the beach, which makes me happy, so I'll give them credit for that, and also their vocals are sounding really nice.

I think this song is definitely a grower, but for now it makes me want to sit on the beach and sip pina coladas (not a bad thing).

I like the song but I think I expected more, cannot say that the MV is really great, because to me it actually looks like some PV, that 4Minute would do
so hopefully they'll be different in the upcoming new releases and we'll get a good ballad like LONELY and some good song like,idk,I'M THE BEST, they need a huge hit for the comeback, this song is defiately no hit, but it's good for summer and as an opener of their upcoming active promotions
