The last single had a huge boost from 9k-10k to about 45k~ in the first week. Not sure why, tbh. It competed with Happiness' single that week.

I've checked that before too, their popularity increased a lot... Judging by the views on Shiroyukihime PV , the tie-in, the song itself being a winter ballad and the fact that Flower is a girlgroup, it has a great chance to get the #2 position.

Well, we'll see, I honestly have no idea of how much Ayu's new single could sell, it's been so long since she last released a single that it's really hard to predict (a single labeled and promoted as "single"), let's just wait and see :)

E-Girls popularity is growing (actually, you can see them on very popular shows), FLOWER and the rest of LDH girlgroups are having better sales too. Maybe they could sell less because her popular and beautiful leader left the group. And they will be releasing their debut album in January, so the sales could be lower

It's strange because they list the versions they count. They listed all three MUSIC CARDS of G-Dragons Japanese album and they are counting its sales. But they didn't list neither TA limited ver nor the MUSIC CARDS.

Hmmm that's a real bummer if it's true, I was gonna get the TA ver. + music cards on release then get the other versions later... :thud

I went to check G-Drongon's Oricon page again and they're not listing his Music Cards '-' Only The 2CD and the limited 2CD+DVD+PHOTO BOOK+GOODS edition are listed.... And the only two versions wich reached top 20 according to SoundScan are 2CD+DVD and 2CD+DVD+PHOTO BOOK+GOODS. Combined sales of both of them were 21,854 copies on its debut week according to SS, pretty much differente from Oricon's debut week sales that were 75,965 copies.

So this means we really don't know if they're gonna or not count ayu Music Cards and Limited TA numbers...

And they're also counting the Korean Edition of Coup D'etat because they state the album has already charted for 11 weeks (the japanese edition was released a week ago, the korean edition 11 weeks ago).

Is the PV for "feel the love" that's out the full version, because the official youtube video calls it "Feel the love (short ver.)."

The full version has an additional 5-10 seconds.

Is the single getting radio play (does anyone know) or is the public unaware its even being released? Hopefully not the latter :/

Well, we originally got the full version of Feel the love from a radio station. However, it probably isn't getting major radio play for now.... maybe closer to release.

I can agree that the arrangement in the chorus and pre chorus are pretty generic, but even in EDM I think they have a special value, you know? I don't know how to say, I think it's generic but at the same time it's not something that I'm always listening to, it's different than the north american do and such...

Overall, a right step in this comeback.

Don't really like merry go round. The beginning is really nice but the rest of the song isn't good. The arrangement is weak, the sounds are overused. The rap don't fit with the melody & the end is bad with her "daladala".There is too much effect on her voice too.

*ONLY* 5-10 seconds!? Hmm... I'm not sure how much this will differentiate between the "short" and the "full" - if it's "only" short by 5-10 seconds...

The "daladala" part makes that song even more special. That's one of the things I LOVE from ayu, she gives her special touch to everything she sings.

WOW, merry-go-round is definetely one of ayu's best songs ever! I won't say it's the best song from the latest years only because there was Ivy.

The more I listen to Feel the Love, the more I think it's awesome. I think it's a really good song! The lyrics aren't her most...I don't know, creative. (in terms of the chorus) I still think it's so catchy and her voice sounds good to me. I wanna hear her perform it live! <3 I like that it's the type of song I want to dance to.

I think it would've made a great opening to an anime! XD

Edit: haha, while listening to the song, I noticed Girugamesh in my signature was dancing in rhythm to the song. XD

Especially the HelloKitty mix of Feel the love. Dare I say it's better than the original.

Just listened to it and I think is ok, still not liking Feel the love (neither it's remixes) and I tought Merry-go-round would sound better after hearing the full version, but it's so repetitive and that rap part still annoying me.

Feel the love is fine but weak and the remixes are horrid lol as for Merry-go-round.... darn it's such a mised opportunity for a great song... if only it had that misterious feeling throughout the whole song like it had in the begining...I like the melody but again the arangement apart from verses just annoyes the hell out of me and the rap parts seem to be out of place....it would have been a great piece of rock influenced matterial i think... The whole thing is not bad i think, but it's a very very weak single for me...

Anyways, horrid single. Even worse for a "comeback". Ugh. Her marketing, creative team, everyone around her just sucks now. I don't think that's the case at all. Things have been about the same as they usually are with her 'team'. With small changes here and there that are probably unnoticed by most listeners/fans/whatever.

This single is perfect for a 'comeback' and even though it may not be perfect for everyone, it's probably going to do extremely well with the Japanese audience.

I try to never place heavy expectations (in the sense that I want something specific from Ayu) on any thing she releases. Doing that is just setting yourself up for potential disappointment since there's no way of knowing what she's going to do now. She used to have a very easy release pattern that had a spring ballad or catchy song, summery dance track/experimental upbeat rock or pop or ballad track, and fall/winter ballads (or in B&D/Pride's case, weirdness) but since around 2010 she's been all over the map with what she decides to come out with and when.

Lol. Not like I'm outraged over it. I've come to accept the fact that I'm lost in this abyss of yester-year within the ayu kingdom.

But, usually the point of a comeback is to propel someone back into the spotlight. To up sales. To grab attention that wasn't there, refresh the current fans but mainly to grab the interest of the uninterested. To gain more mass and general appeal. Otherwise the effort wouldn't even be made to begin with. Use that gap in singles to your advantage. Promote the Hell out of the fact that it's been so long, etc.

That being said, I don't think that was their intention which is odd. But the opportunity was there, and although I don't get bent that she's not selling one million, but the glitz and glamour of her having a more refined image and concept surrounding her releases and the possibility of a genius marketing plan to go along with it just really excites me.

I don't think that was the goal at all for this... it was just "Here's our single after 3 years! Hope you enjoy."

It's not trying to be anything other than that.

I know, I just wish it were the goal. I love creating concepts, marketing concepts and stuff like that. So a release that fulfills an entire concept and image is just really entertaining. Sometimes it feels like she's an indie artist now.

I am really loving the instrumentals for this single tbh.

I think ayu is becoming more and more American with every release, she pretty much lives in LA and most of her friends are there now, or so it seems.

She's not as "jpop" anymore, her style is definitely evolving and her pvs are becoming more and more western.

I'm happy that she's come this far and I can't wait for what's next, as always. Ayu is the only jpop artist that keeps me coming back for more.

So sweet. It really relates to the lyrics of the song. Nothing really happens but there are so many beautiful scenes that I can't forgive and like it. :heart

The little story is really bittersweet as well as the song.

The pv is really good! She looks gorgeous in every scene! And I like how they tell the story without being together in all the pv.

Feel the love isn't really the kind of style of music I like but I do have to say it's not as bad as I thought it was at first listen. But still nothing I'll put on because I feel like it.
The remixes sound like something you'd hear at clubs at the moment. At least the clubs I was at this year had that kind of electronic beats (?) (I really don't know how to describe those parts, to me it's "ehmz ehmz ehm ehm ehmz" :P)
Anyway what I'm trying to say that's something really fresh sounding~
