- She wore a sparkly dress during House Party and it has a 90s feeling with her dancers and on the screen.
- The concept of the concert is Kumi trying to find her own image - she goes from one to another, new ones and old ones from certain eras combined.

I know we're just about halfway through the year but so far from what's been announced this year doesn't sound like anything special. Asia tour is nice but she already went to Taiwan last year. She'll probably release a summer single in August but that's just the usual. Maybe I expected too much but as of now this 15th anniversary year is just the usual Kuu routine with the words "anniversary" slapped onto it.

She never has many releases during the first half of the year anyway, most of the 10th anniversary things happened after the tour was over

How can you know that? It's very likely that Kenji's money comes from his activities on Back-On as well as being a producer, lyricist, among others outside the band.

Everybody here likes saying she's paying everything and such, but many people don't even know how is the Jrock scenario, if it's profitable or not, if his sales are better than hers (and even that is not mch important to the matter).

J-pop is dominated by girlbands nowadays, so I don't think Kumi's income is that stellar, even considering the concerts. I'd say they both contribute equally to the bills in the end of the month

And about Kumi's income: she gets money not just from concerts and music. Her contact lenses line is a big deal, and her colognes are still selling quite good (as far as I know). She might not be as rich as Ayumi, but still.

Girl get that money in her bag anyway, she's not here for the money of somebody else.

Tokyo Hive posted an article on Kuu's Asia Tour and they said there'll be a new set list for it, but was this really stated? I thought it was just an extension of the tour, like she did with Bon Voyage at Taiwan

I wish that there would be a cool mega mix of all of kuu's coolest and sexiest songs.

But a really cool mega mix, hotter than the Driving Hit's remixes, where they don't ruin the melody of the songs. I wish I was born a DJ :P

I wouldn't mind a mega mix like the bonus video on BEST ~first things~ just longer that covers most songs up to today.

I can see it being something new just because of the size of the venue in Singapore. I get the sense that it might be something like FCLL...I think the venue only holds 500 people? How she would translate an arena tour to such a small venue I have no idea :tired

I only ever like 5-6 remixes on each remix album, so I'm not that upset. On the second driving hits, I only liked 2 songs. That was upsetting cause the tracklist was promising.

Actually this is going to make me sound like I hate remixes (even though I absolutely can't get enough), but the only songs I kept on my computer after listening to Beach Mix were Whatchu Waitin' on, and 2 remixes. I really didn't like the album as a whole.

I think Back-ON has some European or kinda international tours, which is a bit surprising for me, but it's still a true fact. plus Kenji apparently sometimes writes music and lyrics and they do kinda tour in Japan too

I think they don't have probs with money and maybe Kuu really has a bigger sum to get into the budget, but I still think that Kenji works just ok

Whats a couple of thousands if both are probably not even gonna sale past 65k. I just find all this "ayu will outsell kumi, by a couple of points" tedious and pointless. They both need help PRONTO. They cant even outsell their previous works (colorus, Bon voyage.) with superior material which are Aone and Woml. :rolleyes

If Kumi or Ayu really cared about their sales they would promote their albums on Music Station and a few other TV lives. If they aren't bothered with their sales why should the fans? At least Ayu performs on the Music Station Super Live and Step by Step has a great tie-in she's on the right track lately.

Yes, you do need a life alert :tipsy. Their sales are bad, we knows this, but their albums aren't really promoted as much anymore. Until either one is barely selling 1,000 copies with heavy promotion, I'm ok with them at this rate. Popularity comes and goes, who knows, in a few years kuu might get popular again.

And yeah, you do come across as a troll, but you do bring up a good point from time to time, especially regarding digital sales.

Although, my one suggestion, and maybe its not even a good one, would be to make sure that you acknowledge Kenji/Back-On in some small way, like a small gift just to them, unrelated to Kuu. I just think it would be little rude to them to go to an event where they are supposed to be the focus and you give them something for someone else. I hope I didn't come off as rude explaining that, actually :P. I just want to make sure Back-On feels the love ❤

Well... BACK-ON was on my country (a month ago) and a lot of fans of KUU wanted to do a project like LiDaYu (and some ayu-fans too) but I was against it (and I AM A HUGE KUU FAN) because is a concert of BACK-ON not for Kuu. I'm according with happyholic★ maybe is a little rude...

I know it's a project armed with love, but in the place of the band, do you not feel sad if, instead of going just to see you, is by another artist? I think it would be disappointing... and think about her too, she could feel a little bad for it because is the concert of another artists...

If someone was giving me at MY concert a present for my husband I would be VERY pissed off. Not to mention that I would be VEEEEEEEEEERY pissed off if the present would be for another of my band members husband. I'm sure that LiDaYu won't be rude and that she just wants to give Kuu a lovely present. But her nice intention doesn't matter if her action itself is simply rude.
If you mean it or not, it makes the impression that you don't give a fuck for BACK-ON as musicians and that you're only there because you love some pop diva.
Maybe neither Kenji nor some other band member would be bothered by it. Maybe they would even think it's cute. But you can't know what they would think. It could be very likey the other way around.
So if you even have the chance to give the present to Kuu some time later, just give it to her later.
I for one would not want that the present I made with a lot of love would come off as rude. And in a worst case scenario Kenji would not hand it over to Kuu or Kuu would agree with him and don't like it for that reason.

I don't see a problem. She's giving it to Kenji , not Back-On, or even Kuu or one of her staffif she's there backstage as well. And if I understood her right, she also has a present for him. I really don't see a problem.

They, Kenji too, came for their fans and are happy to see them and veen if 100 fans came for that reason, that one that will be like "can yoz give this to kuu" will be likea worm in an apple.

Furthermore like Diva_br mentioned LiDaYu isn't the first one with that idea. I'm sure already a lot of people thought of that. At first it may seem cute, but after a while I'm sure it gets damn fucking annoying when people constantly ask you at your concert to give a present to your partner.

I do think that Kuu is now considered an "associated act" with Back-On, and I do think that they are all really supportive of one another. The point I was trying to make was include Back-On, too. I would present their gift first and then add on like, "oh and here is something for Kuu, too". I think the band members would all be okay with that.

Lol I can't help but imagine giving BACK-ON something rather small, and "oh, by the way, before I forget, I have something for ku too." *hands elaborate hand-made multi-fan-participated book of fan letters and bouquet of roses.*

I guess there are a bunch of people getting to know Back-On and getting fans of them because of Kuu. If you look at Kenjis Instagram account, there always are comments related to Kuu or from her fans, also supporting Back-On. And judging from Kenjis comments, he doesn't seem to mind.
And btw. he's openly supporting his wife on his account here and there.

Also, Japanese artists tend to make a difference between japanese and western fans (just look at Ayu e.g.).
Back-On and Co. probably know, it's hard for western fans to get hands on a japanese artist.

I respect that some people are against it.
But as long as it is done with respect, I don't think it's bad.
Maybe there is a way at the Expo to do it without bothering too much.

And Kuu made an entry at her blog with the title "Mexico" and she posted a pic with the items that Kenji bought for their child from here, not with the gifts for her O_O I understand that is a opportunity for get more closer with Kuu, but just sayin'

Not really getting into this discussion, but BACK-ON also came to my country, in an Anime Festival thing, and a friend of mine is a fan of them and also Kuu. He made two fans to take to the concert, one written Kenji and another one with Kuu's name. He said when Kenji saw him, he pointed at him, had a laugh and made a thumbs up showing his ring. A gift is different, but still I would expect him to react happily.

On another topic, I was looking at the tour setlist and I hope she effing releases BRING IT ON this year, she has performed it more times than HOTEL and MONEY IN MY BAG, which were singles from this album and are the only tracks from the album that were not included (interlude aside) :grumpy Also, a shame there's no TURN AROUND on the setlist, the song is so good :( It's like Kuu is trying to erase the existence of the single

Been quite a while since I've been here and I'm lazy so I'll just ask: What was the general consensus on "Walk of My Life?" I heard somewhere else it's kinda split 50/50. I'll just say, I've been with Kuu since 2004, and I've been trying REALLY HARD to like this album, but it's the first one ever that I've just... not liked. :( There are a few songs I like individually but, yeah. I was pretty bummed.

Initially everyone was ranting and raving about it, at least the first users to download and post in the Ku thread were all over it. Then I chimed in with how absolutely terrible it was and every now and then we'd have others who felt the same.

I do think though, that this is THE Ku album that you either LOVE or HATE. There is no in between.

I love it tbh. It's not what I was expecting, and I wouldn't say it's what I hoped it would be, but I think they managed to put out a solid, cohesive album and I respect it for that. It'll be on heavy rotation for me this summer, I can tell.
