so guys, I hope y'all staying safe. I have just read on instagram Ayu officially cancelled her trouble tour, it was expected anyway. I wanted to see Kumi live for the first time ever on her upcoming arena tour celebrating her 20th anniversary, but I am afraid things are not going to work out anymore because of covid19 and the hope of a vaccine at the end of the year or maybe next year. Do you think she is going to reschedule her anniversary events and plans for 2021? It might be the case, at least we are getting new music as she is recording new songs. Hopefully all of this situation will come to an end sometime soon!

I don't see the certain areas of the entertainment industry rebounding anytime soon at all really. Places like stadiums, arenas and theatres are problematic in trying to keep this illness from spreading. I don't know how an artist could safely put on a show given the circumstances. Keep in mind that cold and flu season also kicks off in late autumn. Trying to determine a bad case of the flu from the actual Coronavirus is going to probably cause another panic later this year. It would be in the best interest of the general public to hold off on any mass gatherings until next fall. As much as I had hoped to see Kumi (and Ayumi) this year, I won't be traveling overseas for a long time. |

She helps him learning and doing his homework at home, which usually takes around half a day. She also started playing Animal Crossing because of him, she usually doesn't play games. After he went to bed, she's writing lyrics, doing Insta Lives or record How-to-videos. She also does Pilates in the morning to avoid muscle pain and stay thin. - She's recording new songs in her home studio and so far she has finished 4 or 5 of them. When the situation calms down again, the thing she wants to do first is shooting music videos. - She sees her job as giving love and courage through entertainment and that the entertainment world is a place where people gather and come together. Right now she's refraining from doing live performances cause the health of everyone is the most important thing, but preparing her tour at home she wants to go out as soon as possible again to meet everyone. Doing Insta Lives is a way for her to connect with her fans and support them, but it is so much fun also for her that she often doesn't even realize how much time has passed like the day she did the 4 hour long live. She also receives love and courage herself doing those. - About the possibility of the tour not being able to be held this year, she says right now they're doing preparations like production and setlist like they usually do. She thinks it will also depend on how everyone is handling the situation to overcome it. She's giving her best to deliver an unbelievable 20th Anniversary Tour, giving her best to make it happen. |

Last "stream" she showed that she keeps copies of her releases (albums, singles, DVDs) in her house. There is something that I can see only in few singers, how they like their own work, and I see this in Mariah Carey and Kumi. Both of them seems to love what they do and what they produce. Often you see a singer saying that they don't listen to their own music and stuff, but for Mariah she put her own album to play when she was delivering her twins lol, and you can see that Kumi enjoys listening to her music in her house. I just think that's cool, it really shows when people love what they do. |

I know it's not much but I'm not excited on these goodies nor the picture she teased at :( It all looks like stuff she's done before, and not in a homage manner, as in third universe, but not-inspired :/ Especially cause shootings in a gray or black bg is basically what she's been doing since WOML, and those goodies were already very black and white. Back then it was cool cause it was a new approach, but now it doesn't excite me aymore.
But well I have hopes that when we get proper pics and releases I'll get hyped lol I like the puzzle idea, it's a different kind of goodie and I would buy one and put it on a frame depending on the price lol |

Oh, you're right! I was thinking on studio albums tho and didn't put that in my post :P Could have made myself clearer. SUMMER/WINTER of LOVE were also colorful as well, just remembered that. And I love reLIVE covers for being so colorful, still need to buy those ugh I guess the black and white is her current aesthetics, and the goodies in reLIVE showed that by combining colorful items from the past and the simpler new ones.
But it all depends on how the final products will be, cause if she adds a silver text over those pics it could look amazing as an album cover. But from what I can see, there's not much to excite me :P Talking on a best, I'd love to see a Original Best + Covers Best, with both including new songs. It works with her dual release pattern, she can use songs she was working on when reCORD was just a cover album project, and we get new original songs as well. |

From time to time she had face masks, for reLIVE she also had and it was the skull one. The oldest one I remember is the Koda Kuma from 2010.
We kinda knew the goodies would have this aesthetic since 19TH→20TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT, which had the same logo. The picture is nice, it gives me "LIT outtake" feels, even tho it was shoot in January. Hoping for a good tshirt design, they are usually pretty cool. |

So, there was no further announcement today.
The puzzle sold out the moment it went online last night and they restocked it today 4 pm JST. But that wasn't initially planned. Kuu only mentioned the big announcement on May 29 in one of her Insta lives and nowhere else, so might be the live stream yesterday was that announcement and they just switched the date to the day earlier (or changed the announcement plans altogether). The 3 items are items meant to help with the time at home. She did post about the aftertalk-meeting with the 7 winners on Insta and mentioned that she revealed her plans to them and will do revral the content to all of her FCs at a later date as well (that's also why one part of it is beeped out in her story about it :laugh ). I wonder if the song had a different title during the writing process, because the lines in the final song is the only reference to Sun and Moon as far as I remember. During Black Cherry's era not all the songs had the title into the song, like Puppy and Koi no Tsubomi, so who knows.
I also LOVE Merry Go Round, it is my top 3 from the album for sure. It's a shame k, and Merry Go Round are as loved, I don't care much from Rich & Famous, and it being locked outside Asia doesn't help me liking the song. Her performance of Hashire! was unexpected, and she sounded lovely! Please Kumi, more Hashire and less Poppin' love cocktail. |
The June FC video is up. She talks about the goodies which are being released, a-nation' cancellation and says it's uncertain if her 20th anniv tour will be cancelled or not. iirc the cords holding her in re(CORD) were meant to represent her own standards/pressures holding her, which was also a theme for re(LIVE), overcoming herself. The 20th anniv pic might represent the struggle and effort she put on herself to do so, and inevitably she got hurt in the process, but she managed to do it. Just a theory tho. |

I still wonder what happened with OSAKA TOKYO. Atsushi hasn't release an album or single this year, and EXILE only had a new single in January.
At this point she has enough material for a new Out Works and Collabs, she asked we if wanted a new collaboration compilation, but it ended up being shelved I guess. |
I'd be so down for a new song, the how-to video could be a cool way to promote it while not being able to shoot a proper music video.
About OSAKA TOKYO a while ago I was wondering if a second Collabs best wasn't in the plans for her 20th anniv, cause she was also working on that song with AI, there's Be One that just came out also, and of course all collabs she has done from 2010 till reCORD. But I guess everything is being postponed, not necessairly shelved. At least I hope so lol In my dreams this would feature SO FEVER as a out work song as well :P |

Now with everything on halt and plans being postponed everything could happen, I guess.
I expected another double release plus the best album as it fits her release cycle in the last years and still kind of do. But if cover+orignal album or cover+collab album or best+original album again or best+cover album or even two doubles, Idk. She has a lot of time now and always works a lot. We know she planned a cover album last year she didn't release, we know she did more collab songs (some we already know of, some we just know she met with other artists), we know she's working on and finishing new original songs at home. I really anticipate what she's going to do with all of it in the end and just hope we see as much of it as possible in final form. :laugh And I'm still rooting for a LiSA collab! Btw. some Japanese fans are also asking for a DVD release of her how-to-videos. I could see that happening as a FC limited thing - they're popular and a success, but I doubt it would sell much outside her hardcore fanbase. |

She is not touring but - only speaking for myself here - I'm not that much more productive when I don't have to work. Sure, I get one or two things more done but sometimes I feel bad for "resting". She has a kid a being home with her family probably resulted in more time "spend" on that. She started to play Ac and is probably also doing other random stuff (like browsing instagram) like a human being. Being forced out of a habit could also result in being less productive. That said, she always worked a lot, but it probably stayed about the same as before. |
I agree with you and it's actually nothing different to what I wanted to insinuate. Guess I should word it in a different way.
Because of corona and the situation she has more time to work on stuff in the sense that her schedule and plans are most probably all put on hold and she has more time now till she's officially releasing/doing something again. She won more time so to say to work on her planned releases and maybe change her schedule accordingly. Doesn't mean we will get more, but with Kuu it's to be expected she's doing something with it (like the how-to-videos we wouldn't have gotten without the current situation). Even if it is just changing planned releases like putting two releases together that were meant to come out on different dates. |
I'm seeing not just Japanese acts cancelling August dates, but some international festivals that occur that month are being cancelled now too.
At first I Kumi had dodged a bullet with her dates being in September, but now I'm very doubtful the first concerts will happen. If the December dates happen, then at least she can get to do something for her anniversary at least. |
