Eck, what a mess of PV and song. At least, there was SOFFet there to save the choruses of the song. It's serious guys, this song is a tremendous fail. It's just terrible and not listenable. My love for Sami is gone with the wind now~

^ That's depressing :O. I don't think the song is a TOTAL mess, but from the preview I was kind of thinking it'd be a little different from her other stuff. I just want something in a different style...even though I'm not sure how that would sound on Samii's voice.

None of those songs fit into the 'amazing' category, but are nevertheless my current favorites. Judging from her sales, I'm thinking that it's not just me who thinks this. |
i totally forgot hyaku renka. i love that song. so my favorite 3 singles would be tabibito, hyaku renka, and yukiboshi/soshite...(forgot the name, lol) but issho ni..is okay too, just not the best. and after that, i don't like any of satomi's new music. but i'll watch the new PV now and i'll see how it is.

I think, so far, "arigatou" is the only a-side of hers that isn't any good. a lot of her album tracks are kinda dull, too, but "HOMETOWN" and a few others are very good. she just needs to go back to that traditionalish sound of her first two singles or completely change her sound to something a bit more... listenable? I'm not sure of the word I mean to use, but something more interesting, I guess.
and I do like "yuumachi kaze." it's nothing terribly outstanding, but compared to "arigatou," it's almost like another "tabibito" lolz. |
well, i watched the PV before. it's definately better than arigatou (:irked) i liked that SOFFet were in the video. the song's nice, but i'll listen to it more so it can grow on me. but honestly, it's not THAT boring, surprisingly. i just want more fast tracks. satomi's having more ballad singles, than like, yuna ito, lol.

i rather like it. its not as fantastic as i was hoping for, but its sweet and light and breezy. it suits her voice very well. the pv was a bit blah, but the song wasnt half bad. :) it reminds me of 'hometown' from 'garden'. and i love that song, so its alright by me. ^_^ the only thing that threw me off was that guys hair. o_O what the hell is that about? im hoping for something a little more varied from the rest of the single. but so far this song is well above 'arigatou'. and even 'issho ni'. |

I think this'll be a pretty solid single, Yuumachikaze has been growing one me too. At first I didn't like it much and was just sad it was another ballad, but it's really not bad (Yuumachikaze>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Arigatou) I thought I'd be losing all my interest in Samii if she didn't stop releasing ballads, but I guess not. It would still be GREAT if she could do something really NEW for a change, but it seems I can still love her as a ballad artist after all :heart It was probably just that Arigatou was so so so so bad that it kinda freaked me out :tired And aren't game theme songs usually alternative-sounding? Like KOKIA's Follow the Nightingale, and there's a bunch of experimental indie artists that pratically release game music solely. That could be promising... |

Yuumachikaze sounds to me so much infinetely better now than back when the PV leaked. I think my favorite song is Tsuki ga Miteiru, it's gorgeous. Though Yuumachikaze and Aoi Hana follow REALLY closely behind. Tsumiki is great too, and I love its arrangement, but the composition seems to be lacking something... I love it, but not as much as the other 3 tracks. Man, I've put this release on repeat and have been looping it for some time now. Samii isn't really for everyone, I guess some people may consider her music boring... but it just sounds so... high quality. ^ I couldn't agree with you more :heart That single was amazing IMO. I just love her vocals in ballads...they're perfect <3 and yes her material does sound very high quality. I think my fav song is Aoi Hana.

^Wiki.ThePPN says that full-body pic is the first-press CD-Only cover... but I just checked Samii's blog, and apparently that might not be true... there's a notice about the new single at the top of the blog, before the posts. The notice shows 2 covers, one marked as "[CD+DVD] 初回盤、通常盤", and one marked as "[CD] 初回盤".
According to J-Talk, the japanese bit (初回盤) translates into: 初回 (n) first time; 盤 (n,n-suf) record; tray; shallow bowl (com); ...which I guess means "first press". Yeah, calm and mid-tempo if I remember correctly. It sounds like a nice song though, something you'll most likely grow to love after a few listens.

but also OH CRAP, there's too much stuff coming out at the same time when I just happen to be broke. But anyway. YAY! They only included Yuumachikaze from RELATION, and I loved all songs, but then again... that means more new tracks, I think I can just treat RELATION as an EP of sorts. And I'm really happy they included Mahou no Kagi! I love that song. Though I wonder whether it's the original or her solo version. Solo would be more fitting, but it sounds kinda empty .___. BTW, am I hallucinating or is Tears in the Sky... upbeat...? EDIT: also. is it just me, or is that album description totally ignoring Arigatou? If Arigatou is not included, I think I'll cry tears of happiness. |

Yeah, Ataru went through sex change surgery before the begginning of her singing career... I think she was kind of famous back when she released Tomodachi no Uta, which had a drama tie-in... but lately I think she has around the same popularity as Samii? I love her music :heart
LOL obviously Ayu will be taking 1st place on that day XD no competition whatsoever. but it's a good release date for me haha. And yeah, I hope too that Samii will get to do more upbeat music in the future... though like I said, I think Tears in the Sky sounds kinda upbeat, doesn't it? Anyway, I just hope her new album will be more varied then the 1st. On her debut, other than the single tracks, the tracks were all ballad that pretty much followed the same formula... there were many tracks I enjoyed (Ichiban Yasashii Kaze, Kagami-iro, the FLUTTER of WINGS...) but it was overall kinda forgettable... But if this new album sounds like RELATION, I'll be very happy. |

New single's grown on me a little now. Especially the b-side. It's that "epic" sounding kind of ballad, hard to go wrong with that lol, at least for me~
