This project is to let her know how she is lvoed outside of Japan, and Asia. Not let her know how much her works are being appreciated, free of charged.

and a suggestion to Tick Tock, READ every page you have, any mentions of downloads or AHS and that letter from that fan should be scrapped, no matter how touching the letter is or big of a fan he/she is.

I didn't mention AHS and in the first place I never download stuffs from here since I just registered a while ago because of A WORLD.

We've already made it a rule that no one can mention AHS, and she didn't do that. And mentioning downloading isn't that bad, because there are already some legal ways to do so, like itunes. Ok, maybe the selection isn't too big but still. And how else is she supposed to find ayu's music if she can't buy it?

Anyway, I still agree that Tick Tock should read through the pages and at least make sure no one mentions AHS or any other forums.

Maybe we forgot to make a rule to not mention "downloads" because no one had been dumb enough to do it yet. Every fandom who wanted to sent a fanbook (like here) has rules to not mention their sites, and not to mention downloads, because we go to sites for dls right? This is how we learn and then thereafter buy their works, although there are still half who don't buy. This doesn't mean we should let loose, because dls are still free.

Because I don't want Japan to control their artistes works any tighter. I agree that it is their very tight control that makes Japanese Stars the superstars they are now. But I think we need them to loosen the control a little more. Just to have more access to them.

And we all know, that the artistes and their companies know that downloads are still very much free because iTunes aren't much help afterall. (they know about MU, MF, torrents..., yes they do, some works were deleted because they already got control of them) And are still one big hit to artistes who are still selling albums. Why put a toothpick in Ayu's heart when we can fill it with rainbows? :)

You have to remember you're not speaking to people in euro/US side. You're speaking to ayu who is in Asia, and a Japanese. Possible to say "I started buying after ____ months, or a year of listening to your songs", but no explicit comments on dwnling. Dl-ing is a stab to any singer's heart.

Although I get your point, I don't think Ayu is going to loose sleep because people are illegally downloading her music. I think she would be more touched that we care to do so in the first place.

Obviously Ayu isn't going to the poor house because some of us download illegally, we're not her main source of income. Also, she's surprised we have her official goods in the first place so it's not like she EXPECTS us to purchase all of everything we have from her.

I don't see the problem with mentioning downloads, as someone said, iTunes provides Japanese artist downloads, so I don't think it's that big of a deal. Though it would probably be better if you mentioned something like I started buying your CD's after so many years/months whatever. We don't want Ayu to think her international fans download everything. xD
And also putting the whole book into .PDF would be great! I would also like to see what other people have to say to Ayu~

If people want a pdf file with the whole book in it and ticktock can't make it, I could easily do it. All you need is Acrobat Pro.

I informed an Ayu comm on LJ about this project, so hopefully some of them will be able to send their pages.

yes yes.. as i've said I"m merely trying to help. Erasing all mentions of dls (ahs isn't mentioned already) would help. because I don't dl her stuff. all her albums, all her concerts. I bought them with money I've earned. not that I dislike people who dl. but sending a letter to your idol saying "I LOVE YOU I DL YOUR STUFF" without mentioning a legal dl system is...? it would be great to add in the name. at least they know, they can provide more to that system (if they have deals that goes through).
