Why is it that the first two Ayu Trance CDs both have the M Above and Beyond Mix/remix?
Is the one on Ayu trance 2 a remix of a remix?

TeamAyu2004 22nd July 2013 04:31 AM

ayu trance 2 is a 'mega' mix so its just all mixed together

At first I doubt the album because the tone of everything is kinda monotonous, like the whole album is tinted with pink all over unlike her previous releases but now it became one of my favorite thanks to its cohesive arrangement.

I want ayu to release something new, not necessarily cause I miss her (LOVE again and Party Queen are still kinda new to me since I didn't care for them when they were released) but because I'm curious to see if she's gonna keep her Love songs/again sound or try something different.

Same here, I wonder what she got in her mind regarding the future of her music

I just rediscovered Ayu, going through my Rock 'n' Roll Circus DVD. Those were some pretty colorful and delicious PVs - I want more of that Ayu now :(

Ayu, stop being pink, fluffy and romantic pls and give me some more of that lipstick-smearing, guitar-smashing, lollipop-licking gloriousness.

^that. omg Don't Look Back Ayu was fabulous even with her overacting.

People dislike RNRC so much, but it has some of the most raw power ever. Total gems.

count down.

THIS
I thought Dlb was a boring PV until the climax revealed, and it was awesome!

Kanzaki 22nd July 2013 11:00 AM

^^
Yes. Microphone was just awesome in every little, quirky and odd way. Same goes for Slt. BALLAD even gave me a bit of a lump in my throat, despite the slight cheesiness. DLB was just amazing. And the songs, oh man, almost every one of them. I want more of them. Morrreeee.

I feel like, at some points, PQ was very similar to R'n'RC - it contained some serious greatness in the form of letter, reminds me (especially) and Return Road. Those were songs that could easily have fit in on R'n'RC. I want an album, filled with just that. I know it's not my birthday yet, nor Christmas, but Ayu plsss ;(

I love that you say this with a pink, fluffy Ayumi set :laugh But I totally agree. The mid-tempo/ballad era of Love songs to LOVE again has seemed to last forever, and although there's a few gems in those releases, I look forward to Ayu hopefully surprising us again with being experimental and going back to some pop-rock or EDM. :)

terra 22nd July 2013 12:03 PM

^I agree, this era is filled with mid tempo music and that kinda annoys me :no it's okay to have mid tempo, I love It was, but the amount of those kind between Love songs and LOVE again increased so much it bugs me because of its draggy-ness :(

marty 22nd July 2013 12:15 PM

Rock 'n' Roll Circus has some really amazing Pvs! If it wasn't for half of it being so out of place... could have been one hell of an album! Sunrise and Sunset, as much as I love them, just don't belong there, and meaning of love doesn't deserve to exist for me -.-
Oh well, it was a fantastic album anyway.

WHY, WIFEY, WHY. I was sitting here all "Oh dear, my set. Oh well, nobody's noticed yet." Of course it'd be you, to think of that, like I did :heart

I think Love Songs is a better album than I give it cred for -Usually my preferred word to use when describe it is 'poop'- and at that time, she hadn't yet had a very long period of only mid-tempo ballads going on. But right now, it's getting really boring, and very fast. So, yep. Need more of that headbangin'. Or not necessarily rock, just something that'll make me do a double take when I listen to it, and think 'wow'.

Minttulatte 22nd July 2013 01:14 PM

Listening to LOVE again for the second time through. When I first listened to it through, it was so boring. Seriously. These songs didn't stand out that much, but now that I listen to them again, I realize there are many good songs on the album after all. It's not one of my favorites though, but it's not as bad as I thought it was lol. :)

koumori 22nd July 2013 01:15 PM

I think I would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't been so close to Love songs in her discography. I know we had Party Queen as the filling between the two, but the similar title, theme and photo-shoots just made it seem like one continuous era instead of two separate ones. It's a shame. The songs themselves aren't bad and one or two I still play quite often, but it feels marred by the drama that surrounded it...I'm not really sure how to express how I feel here, but when I think of Love songs I just remember the joy of her marriage to the sadness of her divorce; and LOVE again just reminds me of this Maro situation that still seems on-going. Her personal life overshadowed the music both times, at least for me. It made the in-love lyrics seem awkward and the music videos even more so. I just can't enjoy those albums fully like I can her others.

I'll kill for another album like Rock'n'Roll Circus, I wasn't a huge fan of NEXT LEVEL, but RnRC made me LOVE her again (so did Love songs). Was listening to the album today and wow, every song's amazing, I really hate the tracklist though (if Sunrise & Sunset switch spot, then it'll be better).

OMG I agree with allllll of this.

Don't forget we even had FIVE before PQ and it STILL feels like one long-ass era.

koumori 22nd July 2013 10:23 PM

I didn't even remember FIVE. :thud Whoops..

sugarbasil 23rd July 2013 12:22 AM

^I kind of forget that FIVE exists most of the time. :laugh

Someone mentioned And Then a few pages back, and so I had to go listen to it lol. I'm still not really into it. I really like LOVEppears as a whole album (I gotta admit that it's a very strong and comprehensive album), but I never listen to any of the songs on their own (save TO BE, which I just adore :heart).

Real me just popped up on iTunes. I was going to change it but then I decided to let it play. I don't regret it. I love this song and it's always been a bit of big deal in my life. :)

NintendoHTF1242 23rd July 2013 12:49 AM

I listened to the song, Duty, the other day and forgot how amazing it was.

jean-baptiste 23rd July 2013 01:52 AM

I give you permission to call me a bad fan. I never really read much of ayu's lyrics but I've been listening to her full albums while reading the translation and it makes a difference. You get a better grasp of each album's concept. And I know I'm eons late, but DAMN are her lyrics relatable.

terra 23rd July 2013 05:27 AM

^:laugh her lyrics ARE relatable, I never felt that way when I was still in middle school lol
But regarding her recent releases because I'm more active and get to hear the songs before the lyrics translations were in, I became focused on her music and arrangements than ever before, that's what made the rest of LOVE again unbearable for me :(
