Otherwise I'm semi excited for an original basic-ballad smash.

I thought about the globe tribute CD as well, but her recording it with Tetsuya has got me less excited now. I wouldn't mind DEPARTURES, but i'd mourn Many Classic Moments forever.

As much as I think his songs aren't bad, I enjoy a lot of them, I wouldn't mind a breath of fresh air and a new or just different composer.
If it's for the tribute album, that's fine. I'd be down for any new song but more original new songs by him are just too much in my opinion.

About which globe song to cover, I just can't not picture her singing DEPARTURES given she has already sang it this year, one could even say it was a kind of early promotion. If she does another song instead, it will surprise me more than her not being featured in the album at all.

Although, Keiko did so well on the original, I'm not sure if Ayu would be able to hold a candle to it. Back in the day, maybe so; but with today's vocals, she wouldn't be able to pour as much emotion into it, since it's so heavily reliant on achieving and maintaining that high pitch.

I think people misunderstand tribute albums.

They're never ever released with the intention of outdoing the original. That's not the point.

The point is for an artist to put their flare on a song they like. That's really it...

Looking forward to more news on the Globe tribute album but also happy if TK is doing a new song with Ayu as I love TSMGO!

The new song she is recording is by Tetsuya and it's called "Winter diary". I know somebody called that name beforehand.
I just wish she would use a different composer >_<

Well it turns out ayus twitter getting done by staff isn't a new thing. It happened to Adele too. Basically Adele was tweeting under the influence and now her tweets have to pass through 2 people. So its really not a shocking thing. Just their managements want to stop the drunk tweeting :P

It wouldn't surprise me if it just becomes a digital single. That seems to be were she does better at selling now, especially singles.
