All that “much more” drove her right into losing her hearing. :(

Creating some music, some promotion etc is not hurting her hearing much. Doing concerts with crazy schedule like she does is... But I don't want to start a debate. :D And she manages her career as she wants.

I am more than happy to pay the full price and her concerts are still a lot of fun. It depends on your level of tolerance to the way she sings. Mine's pretty high and I know what to expect. Ayu was never about great vocals and the whole industry is dominated by mediocre singers at best. Also half of kpop acts lip sync their performances and people still pay to see them.

Ayu has always been about great music, fun performances and strong stage presence.

Very good points.
I've always been addicted to live sound: the differencies from studio versions, improvisation, the beauty of someone hitting the right notes... I like a good show as much as anyone, but the vocals and live band are my priority. After attending concerts of very talented vocalists I almost consider what Ayu's doing now to be an expensive fraud. In short, my ears must be pleased.

All of them. With a help of editing. I didn't expect FNS to edit vocals. I thought they'd use best takes, but leave the vocals raw. Well, I'm not complaining, it was for the best.
I'm glad she shouted much less than during her actual shows, I was hoping for it. The voice is hoarse indeed though.

I‘ve watched the live broadcast in bad quality before I‘ve commented.
Re-watched the performance later in HD and you‘re right... :)

Also someone wondered why the fans there were only women, didn't even notice myself.

And sorry, but this tweet is seriously hilarious!
Spoiler:

On LINE with my 72 year old mother
Mother: Namie Amuro, isn't it too early to come back?
Me: That's Ayu.
Mother: Ayu? Who's that?
Me: Ayumi Hamasaki
Mother: If you say Ayumi Hamaski you mean Kumi Hamasaki?
Me: No, that's Koda Kumi.
Mother: Ah, now I know, the daughter of Keiko Fuji (mother of Hikaru Utada)!
Then I secretly turned off the phone.

As hashtag he uses "the appareance of the 4 divas"! :laugh

She also has been looking alot like ariana grande lately

I understand. It was a huge difference seeing Hitomi Shimatani sing in a bar with just a couple of instruments accompanying her an hour after seeing Just the beginning. Shimatani is a talented vocalist, very pleasant to the ears, still ayu gets me hyped like nobody else 😅

I know Ayu will never be the artist who would do this type of thing but it's one of my secret dream shaha... Her old accoustic/unplugged live versions were amazing...

Part of Me acoustic from CDL is one of the few things I listen to from time to time out of all recordings I made, because she didn't shout and sounded quite pleasant there.

^So much nicer than the studio version!

And the acoustic version of Virgin Road from that CDL with the awkward short hair wig? I don't even like the song but that was NICE!

I also used to listen a lot to the guitar only version of Love song from Power of music, but ever since I've started listening to music on Spotify I've kind of forgotten about those

(And HEAVEN from CDL 05-06 I think it was! Long black hair and a white beanie hat. The vocals were just perfect)

And to stay on topic: quite surprised by the performance, I realise its edited but great energy and decent voice, it really makes me miss her being on TV!
