well, sometime, stress and pressure makes the best works

^Or not LOL When too much expectation is put into something sometimes it just ruins everything. Some great and very imaginative works can actually come from a casual idea.
I just want to point out that the fact that ayu is going to put a lot of effort into making it a great song is not a guarantee that the song will be necessarily something amazingly superior to her past works. There's always the chance that it might be a simple song, or just a usual ballad.

Must suck having to come up with good songs under a schedule. No wonder people aren't happy with her new releases as much as they used to be. :(

Exactly. :)

I don't necessarily have high expectations, but I do at least expect somthing different. Based on the theme of the movie, it might be something traditional-Japanese-meets-rock-ballad or something. Surely it won't be just a typical song, there will be some sort of flair to it that sets it apart.

thanks for the info ;)

From the news it sounds like alot of work and time is going into this... But I mean, one can tell from the credits of Voyage that it was supposed to be a magnum opus of sorts (that song probably had more individuals working on it than any single song in ayu's entire discography so far). But it just ended up cheesy really, compared to simpler ballads like SEASONS and Dearest. The lyrics were really the only good thing about Voyage (tsuki ni shizumu could have been a much better movie too, with such a sweet & creative concept. It just ended up being nonsensical and had way too many plot holes... it needed to be longer, i think). I'm not gonna lie and say I don't have high hopes for the song, but my expectations are pretty low. If it's really good and really creative, I'll be VERY happy with it and very pleasantly surprised.

Yes. We should all not expect that much from it.. cause' we end up being all disappointed and bummed out afterwards.. :D lol [seriously, some people are like 'I thought it was.. :[..'] Yeah.. :D

Zeo

thx for the news and translation. Wow, if it's something like Celine Dion's "My heart will go on", then I guess this would be her best single ever! Just hope that the track list wouldn't end up as Hikki's darekano single...

oohh! too excited!

The movie opens on 17 September, so I guess the single will be released near that date.

Voyage sold very well despite the extremely weak Japanese market in the winter of 2002.

And I agree, I wish the movie was longer. Showing more of how Ayu ended up in the mental institution, and more of about her relation with Sonshin. I guess budget problems forced it to be short :eviltongu

ayu_chan82 22nd May 2005 10:57 PM

*imagines a longer movie* that would have been cool !!!

ImpactBreaker 22nd May 2005 11:07 PM

Voyage wasn't cheesy imo. The instrumentals are really rich. It explains why so many people collaborated on the song.
