"Win"?

That's like saying "'oh em gee' Hikki is going to pwn Ayu's album sales, cause she's a better singer and she should win."

I'm glad she's got the huge sales back, probably due to promotion and.. stuff. :p

Now, for 4 hot wave to bomb.. X3

Wow Go ayu!!!!

LacusClyne 28th June 2006 04:53 AM

that's nice. but really, Startin', HEAVEN, STEP you and Fairyland had only one cover. And HEAVEN sold almost the same as BlueBird....that's sad. i'm hoping for BlueBird to sell more actually, considering it's her 40th single!

0.0 i just thought, i did order my cd only from CDJapan, so my copy counts towards the sale too.

truehappiness 28th June 2006 04:57 AM

actually, fairyland was the first CD+DVD to have two covers.. and its been like that ever since. :p

Ani_C 28th June 2006 05:28 AM

GO AYU!!! is all i can say ^o^!!! That's awesome!

I agree. The cover matters a lot.

andre2907 28th June 2006 06:18 AM

Congrats. Ayu! That's a good first week sales!

We can't be sure of that. We don't have the total numbers of every chinese/taiwanese/korean singers...

She isn't on Guiness because she released 12 singles in 12 weeks, it's because all of them went Top 10.

The sales are great, will she keep it up? :).

Now, let's go over to worrying about her 2nd week sales!

Uhhhh no. Jay Chou's album (forgot which one) sold 3 million across Asia, and Jolin's recent album broke 2 million. But the individual markets like HK, Singapore and Korea have low sales. (but then again, you have to take in account their size of population)

But I think Ayu is at least top 2 in the "best selling female solo artist in Asia" category. The only singer I think can rival her is Faye Wong.

And yeah, Hikki's "Frist Love" is the best selling album in Asia.

hallelujah_united 28th June 2006 03:52 PM

^And Faye Wong doesn't really release stuff anymore. So I guess that makes her the "best selling female solo artist in Asia" for now. Whew, what a long title to have.

And the first week sales for BLUE BIRD look pretty impressive, it's almost back to 2005 standards already. Maybe things are starting to look up from now on...

Now we have to hope that the dreaded second week nosedive doesn't happen again.

walking proud 28th June 2006 04:05 PM

this is really awesome. i'm so glad.

Yup, plus Korea market used to be pretty big a few years ago. Not as big as Japan, of course, but big acts could sell over 500k easily....

SunshineSlayer 29th June 2006 01:50 AM

Ayumi dropped to #5 today and as I expected the Nana singles really didn't make a huge splash. I'm just upset that Anna's Rose sold better than Olivia's A Little Pain. :irked

truehappiness 29th June 2006 01:53 AM

First day sales are usually good for most people yo. XD

Ayu's rise back up sooner or later. I am disappointed as well. a little pain is so good!

jeffycue 29th June 2006 05:23 AM

ayu has sooo many records!! she has to have a book of world records.. wehehehe.. kidding =)

michiAki 29th June 2006 06:17 AM
