now i get the meaning

but still a bit confused in the last documentary
I really dun understand ayu's feeling

lol I agree with your posts to much lately. Yea I don't really get the last part and some other things either. Maybe someone can go over it and fix it up a bit? Because some sentences are kind of weird. :D

leo_nardez 13th April 2008 02:27 PM

really?

can u point out which one?
*editor feels a failure~*
LOL

alternarist 13th April 2008 02:37 PM

^ how about the translator? i read it repeatedly and it sounds fine to me LOL.

Melrose 13th April 2008 02:44 PM

Hehe.~ ^^ I don't know if I can find all the errors back 'cause I'd need to read the whole thing lol but from the top of my head:

Quote:

Scenes like grabbing someone or making someone fell is prohibited.
"fell" -- do you mean "fall", or something else? 'Cause I think fell also means torture or something?

Quote:

And my organ are popping out!
What? XDD "organ" as in "organs" -- the stuff inside of you? If it really is organs, then it should be with an s because of "are". You can't say a multiple-word and then "are". Like "tables are", is good. But "table are" is wrong. I still think that organs is kind of a strange word lol. Shouldn't it be heart or something? XD

Quote:

There’s an equipment is broken.
Well I understand this sentance of course, but it should be "There is an equipment broken." or "There's an equipment broken". Because right now it says "There is an equipment is broken".

Quote:

Peco : I can't wait to say it, I want to say “cancel the “tissue” and replaced by the ring performance”
Should be: "Peco : I can't wait to say it, I want to say “cancel the “tissue” and replace it with the ring performance”". OR "Peco : I can't wait to say it, I want to say “cancel the “tissue” and have it replaced by the ring performance”.

Also, "tissue" is a rather odd word lol. Tissue can mean like the little paper that you use to blow your nose, or tissue as in skin from an animal. Replacing it with "ribbon" would be better, IMO.

Quote:

Princess : douzo yoroshiku
That's... Japanese. o_O Or is it a name? Shouldn't that be translated lol.

Quote:

Be careful the light! Take the upper part!
"Be careful the light" = "Be careful of the light"? Or "Be careful with the light"? "of the light" if the light is dangerous, and "with the light" if someone has to be careful not to break the light or something.~

Quote:

And don’t too “imagination” style rather to “attractive” to sing will be better?
I don't get this sentance...At all. ;-; I think there is a verb missing or something... Because I don't understand it, I can't fix it, but IMO it would sound better like this or something: "And wouldn't it be better to sing an "imagination" style song, rather than an "attractive" song?". That would mean that an imagination style song is better than an attractive style song. But I don't know if she says that an attractive song is better than an imagination song, or the other way around. I also don't understand what she means with attractive/imagination style lol.

I still think you did an awesome job though!!! :D

se7entheaven 13th April 2008 02:48 PM

haha
we can be frens melrose LOL
as we have kinda same thinking
ya...sometimes it's hard to translate japanese coz their way of speaking and the meaning is quite vague and different
esp ayu's

alternarist 13th April 2008 02:54 PM

lol.. those are ALL not translated by me.. so i guess its best to consult prussian_blue.

Melrose 13th April 2008 03:42 PM

@seven: yea lol do you have MSN? XD

@alter: Cool. =p What parts did you translate then? Lol. I found some more errors, did you make these? XD

Quote:

Staff : they said, “Am I hearing something wrong?”
Ayu : They said “Am I hearing something wrong?”
Staff : After they heard there’s 21 of them in the store, they asked “am I hearing something wrong?”
I don't get this part at all lol. 21 what?

Quote:

Narrator : After rehearsal, staffs are editing the video before the concert begin
"staffs are editing" -> "the staff is editing"

Quote:

We have stuff that really supporting us,
"stuff" = "staff"?

Quote:

At first pull up the atmosphere and let it down again at the end,
(said by Ayu) I think atmosphere should be curtains here? I could be completely wrong but to me it seems like she's talking about the curtains that go up at the beginning of the Memorial Address song and then down at the end.

Also, why is the word "high" used all the time? "the concert will end with the atmosphere being the “highest”" and "Ayu : We must continue to be High!" and more. Seriously, what word is being translated to high here? Can you find a synonym? cause high means being on drugs lol...

AyuGAME 13th April 2008 03:49 PM

wooo...thanks for complete it...thanks..

alternarist 13th April 2008 03:58 PM

erm.. if u find any errors in documentary 7 - 11. its my problem :)

Melrose 13th April 2008 04:08 PM

Where's documentary 11? o.o

Edit: I think your translation's pretty good! Except this:

Quote:

Ayu : We must continue to be High!
Everyone must continue to be on drugs? lmao

alternarist 13th April 2008 04:11 PM

Documentary 11 starts from here:

Quote:

Narrator : Ayumi Hamasaki definitely faced a lot of challenges in this ASIA TOUR. She is constantly thinking of ways with her reliable staff on how to bring the best performance to the audience. Behind the smile on stage, is a duel with herself. At the backstage of the first performance, something happened at the final change of costume.
leo, pls edit :P

lol!! High refers to the atmosphere being High!! u noe!! not referring to drugs lol.

Melrose 13th April 2008 04:29 PM

^ Haha Maybe you could rephrase "high", like "full of energy"? In the US/England/wherever they speak English I've never heard someone say that they are high, and not mean drugs. :O

Quote:

Staff : Feels like… you meant you can’t hear this portion?
Ayu : That’s right. The oriental flavor is missing. I think that it’s better to maintain it this way.
What is oriental flavor? XDD Is this a mistake or am I just stupid?

Quote:

It’s too rush to connect there with only 4 beats.
"too rushed" as in, the bridge was made too quickly to be good? Or do you mean "too fast", as in that the bridge is too fast to connect it with only 4 beats?

Quote:

Hope that such spirit of Ayu will move the hearts of the fans.
"Hope that" isn't right. It should be "It is hoped that" or "She hopes"/"he hopes"/"I hope"/etc. I don't know who hopes lol.

Quote:

Gomi : How do I phrase it? No no. I do this since 5 years ago. It’s to help brighten everyone’s spirit.
"I do this since 5 years ago" = "I have been doing this since 5 years ago" if he has been doing it for 5 years and is still doing it.

Quote:

Go-mi : Perhaps so. We have a lot of time. But seriously, I will not have the chance to do so if I don’t do it today. However, when I start to imagine how funny I will be dressing, I start to resist.
I just don't really get this part. Resisting what? XD Wrong verb translated?

Quote:

I myself is confused
What? o.o "I myself am confused" sounds better. But I still don't know quite where to place "myself". That's like saying "You yourself are confused". Are you sure she said that? lol

Quote:

Should anyone ask me if I am strong as one
Hmm, I don't really get this part. "as one"? She's already talking about just herself, so you can't say "as one". You use that when talking about a group of people doing something "as one". Maybe you mean "by herself"?

alternarist 13th April 2008 04:41 PM

Quote:

^ Haha Maybe you could rephrase "high", like "full of energy"? In the US/England/wherever they speak English I've never heard someone say that they are high, and not mean drugs. :O
in asia, we use the word "high". i am not changing it.

Quote:

What is oriental flavor? XDD Is this a mistake or am I just stupid?
it means the song has an asian feeling.. u think too much.

Quote:

"too rushed" as in, the bridge was made too quickly to be good? Or do you mean "too fast", as in that the bridge is too fast to connect it with only 4 beats?
ask ayu this question.

Quote:

"Hope that" isn't right. It should be "It is hoped that" or "She hopes"/"he hopes"/"I hope"/etc. I don't know who hopes lol.
the narrator didnt direct the action "hope" to anyone.

Quote:

"I do this since 5 years ago" = "I have been doing this since 5 years ago" if he has been doing it for 5 years and is still doing it.
alright. i agree with this. i translate too much such that i forgot all about english.

Quote:

I just don't really get this part. Resisting what? XD Wrong verb translated?
it's not a wrong verb. resisting wearing a bra and wig and dance like a mad dog.

Quote:

What? o.o "I myself am confused" sounds better. But I still don't know quite where to place "myself". That's like saying "You yourself are confused". Are you sure she said that? lol
I, myself, am confused. does it sound better? i definitely understand what ayu is trying to say more than u do.

Quote:

Hmm, I don't really get this part. "as one"? She's already talking about just herself, so you can't say "as one". You use that when talking about a group of people doing something "as one". Maybe you mean "by herself"?
i dont get this part too. well but thats what the translation sheet said. if u have a better phrase for it den u are free to edit. :)

Melrose 13th April 2008 04:54 PM

Quote:

it means the song has an asian feeling.. u think too much.
And the person actually said "oriental flavor"? OK..

Quote:

I, myself, am confused. does it sound better? i definitely understand what ayu is trying to say more than u do.
I understood what she was saying, but the translation was kind of off. "I, myself, am confused" is yea, good English.

Quote:

ask ayu this question.
"too rush" isn't English, though. I don't care what she meant. XD We're trying to translate it to English after all..

Quote:

it's not a wrong verb. resisting wearing a bra and wig and dance like a mad dog.
Oh OK. I didn't watch the documentary so I didn't get that.

Quote:

the narrator didnt direct the action "hope" to anyone.
Then it should be "it is hoped", because "Hope that" isn't proper English. XS

Quote:

in asia, we use the word "high". i am not changing it.
In Asia you talk English? o_O

Quote:

i dont get this part too. well but thats what the translation sheet said. if u have a better phrase for it den u are free to edit.
Should anyone ask me if I am strong as one, to be honest, I can’t answer that question.

Hmm..

Should anyone ask me if I am as strong alone, to be honest, I can’t answer that question.

I think that's better? :)

leo_nardez 13th April 2008 06:13 PM

=.=''

there's too much mistake..
but anyway, there's this mistake so that u guys can enjoy the translation faster~
*try to look for reason* ROFL..

anyway, alternarist, I myself want to ask u about the documentary 11, coz i dun have the sheet with me so I cant really see.

eee...
but as i can see is, the mistake is some slight mistake that can be better but u guys still understand rite?

it's just grammatical mistake,,,u must excuse our asian english~ ok..MY asian english...which is like tat...BROKEN ENGLISH...

^ in asia, we do talk ''HIGH'' it is that we are too excited for something...not that it's something to do with drug..
