I like the Hey performance too. Her vocals there were good. Her voice flowed. I guess I'm happy as long as her voice doesn't sound choppy.

Ayumi_lover 30th September 2008 06:30 AM

well, I downloaded HDTV file from JPOPSUKI, maybe something wrong with that audio in my computer, but it sounded like she totally lost her voice because of illness....
I will download other rip from here in the evening... but i think she was ill.... I even not enjoyed her singing, CDTV one was really better in vocals

IT WAS GREAT
she's back now ^^
glad she still can pull it ^^
That was like the best MW TV performance

Really?

I thought the CDTV one on 9/24 was pretty good, but the Hey3x vocals were bad!

But shes had worse TV performances before the ear problem so wasn't THAT bad.

se7entheaven 3rd October 2008 03:48 PM

^ hahaha CDTV was very bad, maybe the quality I watched...but Hey3x perf. really blow me off

SolarAngel 3rd October 2008 04:04 PM

^"Blow you off" in a good way haha? I thought heyx3 was really good. At least until the "wow wow yeah yeah yeah" part where it got really shaky but she ended well.

Jwiz 3rd October 2008 04:51 PM

^ During HeyX3! performance actually her actions are quite cute while doing the wow wow part, like she jumps and sing at the same time X]

Meat Pao 3rd October 2008 05:38 PM

The CDTV performance imo is the best performance so far in terms of her vocals. The HEY!x3 one wasn't really that good but I loved the outfit <3

jbrat2219 3rd October 2008 05:57 PM

CDTV = better vocals, Hey!x3 = better pitch, a-nation = the best of both worlds xD; lol

SolarAngel 4th October 2008 05:32 PM

^I liked a-nation 08 too. Watched it on someone's myspace page. The vocals were great! Too bad they cut out hanabi and fairyland...

jbrat2219 4th October 2008 05:38 PM

^ Yeah... it'll probably be on the DVD though.

I have to agree that her vocals were not as bright and refreshing as before...many successful singers have to bear the consequence of too much shouting or loud singing when they have their concert tours..without having a chance for their vocals to rest. Neverthless, I do love her singing techniques nowadays..It's becoming so mature.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but I think it's only in long falling tones that she has problems, just look at the Days performance at FNS a few days ago. Like when she sings te ii desuka in the end.

emi♡ 4th December 2008 06:59 PM

I think she should do more acappellas. Seems she pays more attention.

I liked both FNS performances, but I think SEASONS owned Days as far as vocals go.

Would be interesting to see.

CaseNumber:825 4th December 2008 08:26 PM

I've noticed a slight decline in her vocals recently.... but nothing too major in all honesty.
There are far worse vocalists out there and at least she does continually give us amazing live performances.

lfe. 4th December 2008 08:40 PM

She had a lot of problems earlier in the year, but if you hear the FNS performance, she has made drastic improvements since. Its no doubt that projecting vocals with only one functional ear was giving her a lot of problems but she seems to have overcome these adversities.

maikaru 4th December 2008 10:20 PM

The main reason I think her vocals are a bit off this year is that she's been singing everything in a lower key.

A Song For XX at a nation was low key...

she cannot hear herself well anymore either.. thats why the accapella was so good
There were no instruments.. so she could hear herself fine.
She seems to be singing louder so she can hear it.. and it does not help... =\

She cant sing those songs like hanabi or dearest anymore, because she cant sing softly.. she cant hear it.
Before, even with what little she had left in that ear, she could still manage..
But now.. =\

Kilyk 4th December 2008 10:36 PM

Her latest live performance of SEASONS + Days was actually very good! I was happy!

Choyan 4th December 2008 11:32 PM

lets hope she can keep it up for CDL! :D

SURREAL__RAINBOW 5th December 2008 01:38 AM

I think that they ain't using the Japan tour for the dvd because of her vocals..

in the beginning of the year her vocals were pretty bad, and plus she forgot the lyrics many times, and lost her way into the songs...

since last year her vocals were bad

majrakun 5th December 2008 01:51 AM

FNS Seasons was lip synced? What made you say that? Is it really possible to lip sync an a capella? You could hear her breaths in between the lines, and at the La la-i part where she was pulling the mic slightly too far away, you could hear the difference and the fading in the volume.
