Love the preview, sounds different from her other rock songs, I'd compare the arrangement bits we heard so far to a mix of Nu-Metal and symphonic metal of the kind influenced by opera and musicals so far.

What I like about the preview is that she doesn't sound as 'heavy' as she did in talkin' 2 myself (although she sounded badass hardcore there); I guess I prefer her Because of You voice better.

Yep!! I loved her 'badass hardcore' talkin' 2 myself voice.. but from what I can tell it's more of the Memorial Address type voice. Less emphasis on chest voice with vibrato.. more on a clean sound. I think this era (of this album) with her vocal training is giving her one of her most clear sounds!
It's very melodic~

I loved Memorial Address and Game, so if its anything like those I will be happy!

It is. But don't expect her to sound exactly the way she used to, her vocal technique is different.
Recent vocal training made her voice much, much clearer. The clearest of her career, possibly shared with MY STORY. She sings less throaty now, mixing in a TINY amount of headvoice into every note that isnt really deep to create soft, clear but powerful vocals. She doesn't do it as well live yet but she...never did. I honestly doubt she'll ever sound as "heavy" as GUILTY and especially t2m lives again. t2m lives and MW lives had absolutely horrid vocal technique.
But the way she applies vibrato and her tone has changed, too.

The arrangement is great, but her cute voice and the montone chorus kills it for me.
Also in this studio version she's clearly singing "Patty Queen" or something like that for me. ._.

I think it's the LQ rip but the mix itself sounds AWFUL.

In terms of composition, I do think the song is a little flat. The song doesn't really go anywhere. I'm not worried about the rest of the album though, her title tracks are usually weaker than the others.

The verses are a little flat, but at the same time it works in the way it builds up to the chorus, it's one of those songs i can easily enjoy cause it make's me happy.

The mix is actually bad i think, because the music and the voice don't mix together... Neither the "kampai" part the voice seems too low there, and too loud everywhere else.

Other than that, i really like her voice in this song, and there's no "cuteness overload" like in EnergizE for example.

I really liked the HBYA PV and I'm interested to hear Return Road in full. I liked how she was coming out of that tank.

Party Queen is definitely not for me, I couldn't even listen to the whole song. I don't like the "I am your Party Queen" line and I don't like the verses, especially the "KANPAI!!".

Yeah the mix kinda doesnt go right with the background. I'll wait for an official!!! Chances are this is not the final product, or it's a remix of somesort.

I advise anyone not to judge the mix from this. The version we got was 96kbit/s at best, a bitrate at which whole instruments can disappear in songs. The arrangement in a higher quality will probably sound COMPLETELY different and have a different mix of volumes as well.

Listened to Party Queen. I don't like the song lyricwise. But I like the electro in this a lot. I. Must. Dance. Now. Great one! Not Ayu's best work, but it's doing fine for me.

PQ is as expected... tho Ayu sounds odd in it.. as for return road... I can't even make an impression out of 15 seconds, diddn't even understood the beat nor the instruments.... i sense it's going to be a good song but that is not enough....

I'm not in love with Party queen at all, but I already had a feeling I wasn't going to like it. Return Road, however is amazing, even just from the preview I know I'm gonna love it. Classic Ayu. I'm just sad that there isn't a connection to Virgin Road, because it would make so much sense, but perhaps Ayu isn't ready to talk about her divorce so bluntly or so soon.

Listening to Party queen right now. It's as expected; I love it (I like this kind of music). Is it me or her voice kind of 'overpowers' the music here? It's probably a matter of LQ-HQ, so I hope in the HQ version the music is 'louder' :\

Caved and listened and IT'S AWESOME. It's in the style of the remixes I like the most from her.

And yes, naturally, a LQ radio rip isn't going to give us a good idea of what the studio track sounds like. People shouldn't even be worrying about that.

Anyway, yeah. I quite like it. I paused Last angel to put this on and tbh it's a nice combination. I like how her voice suits the beat, she doesn't go cutesy and she doesn't go overboard, I like how it stays pretty solid straight through. Kind of calls the music itself into greater focus.

Maybe the songs aren't connected. But she is wearing a black dress that reminds me a lot of the wedding dress she wore in Virgin Road and getting out of a tank after the battle and that alone seems epic. I agree the song sounds like classic Ayu and I can't see why would people want anything else from her <3
