Thanks tsubasa, I just love those kind of photos from her!
Can't wait to get the news about her birth.

Gustavopc 1st June 2012 12:15 PM

Her eyes look so big on this picture o0 Hmm, a spider-man gift... Maybe some people already know wheter it's a guy or a girl already? Heroes are usually given to boys...

I think the person means career wise.

I think in the long run the pregnancy will help her career out. She needed a rest. I wouldn't want her to lose/ruin her voice like Ayu did. (also keeping in mind Ayu's condition)

Gustavopc 1st June 2012 05:38 PM

I also think this break is good for her, she can rest and look back to all she's been through and decide what steps to take on the next releases. I really hope she goes, for example, for different kinds of ballads, since every year she's been releasing a classic-ish ballad, since you.

happiholic★ 1st June 2012 06:34 PM

I think the baby will be good for her. Help her gain perspective on life, which will be reflected in her music, I think.

She looks soooo cute in that pic. Mommy Kuu <3. Luckiest child ever born. I wonder if those are gifts from people who know the sex of the baby? Why a Spider Man shirt? Why not Batman? Though, if she is having a boy, I imagine him to be like the boy in those videos posted where he is dancing to Kuu songs.

Seriously? Ayumi's voice has gotten better with age. It has changed yes, but it has gotten so much better than her earlier career. (gone is the cat soundingness.)

As for her being gone from the public eye helping her career out. I dont think so. Japan music is one of the fastest moving industries in the world. You are in it or you are not.
Two thinks can happen. She can either go the way of Namie, and sink and sink till she hits big again, or she will just fade away like most.
I'm not hoping for the ladder, but that is the most likely.

She's not going on a long hiatus like you make it seem though. JAPONESQUE was just released and did fine with no promo even beating Ayu with PQ (for now at least). She'll be back before we know it so being gone from the public eye won't be a problem for her since it's almost like she never left. I'm sure she will get some media publicity when the child is born as well as Kuu has been sharing some photos and such with her fans.

As for Ayu's voice thats your opinion but many others seem to differ.

happiholic★ 1st June 2012 08:02 PM

Ayu's Love songs voice was terrible. I suffered second-hand embarrassment listening to some songs and lives. But, that is my opinion.

Kuu hasn't been gone long enough for her to be forgotten. She already has comeback plans for after her pregnancy. Plus, she has a pretty strong fanbase. I agree that simply being gone is not "good" for her career, but having a baby is another thing. Having the baby will be good, and since she's not gone that long she will still be remembered.

Exactly the point I'm making. I would have been concerned if the comeback was scheduled for November 2013 but thankfully it's not the case.

I only know these two places and only buy Japan press too. Anime Extreme had Kumi's discs (pretty much everything you've mentioned), and I believe I saw one Namie's DVD and M. Nakashima best al. I wanted to buy some VG OSTs there, but everything is HK press there as well. Never bought a single JPop cd in Toronto. lol Always use CD Japan for that.

I saw Ayu's 2011 Calendar @ PM. It was end of the year and price was $40 (tax incl). I was like wow drop the price and I'm getting it. It's no longer there, though. They have a lot of Jp magazines there, but I'm not really interested them.

The soundtracks are HK press at Anime Xtreme?

They even have some Japanese manga as well at that PM store.

so, we cannot see her sexy performances anymore?

I would be happy she has a rest and get out of avex this nightmare company because of the reason same as you.

ExodusUK 2nd June 2012 02:33 AM

I think it will be interesting, I want to see her do more varied ballads than her typical ballads now she can't do sexy dance songs when she has a child.

Huh? I don't think anything I said will affect her sexy performance style.

In the bolded part are you talking about Ayu or Kumi? lol

Yes she can and she will. She'll be a sexy mommy.

Yeah, I kind of agree...oh wait - new thread, anybody?

Maybe she still loves Spider-man. In 2005 during the Q&A someone asked her if there was something she was really into or collecting. She said she loved Spider-man and even did the whole fangirl hands on chin daydream look. It was really cute.

You know this? She said when she is coming back, because I havent seen it yet.

Unless she has actually said when she is coming back (which of course plans change all the time) then you cant just assume that Kuu is coming back right after birth or a month or two.
Most women like to spend time with their baby before jetting back to work and being a singer is a very very stressful life.
If anything (and without an announcement) I see her taking at least a year off after the baby is born, maybe two.

emi♡ 2nd June 2012 05:10 AM

She announced that her comeback was going to be her birthday show...and we've been seeing them working on it :shrug

Zahara 2nd June 2012 05:51 AM

Lol have you read the thread? I'm kidding, but she's going to be doing a few shows around her birthday.

Um, yes. She did say she's coming back. Her birthday live. And that does allow me to have the assumption that she is coming back. And she's said that she wants to continue singing, even after childbirth. She's been keeping her fans involved in the whole pregnancy taking pictures and what not. She's being secretive and allowing herself to fade away. Also, Kuu isn't most women. You have no more right than I do to say she's going to fade away. And in my opinion she seems more likely to comeback. She's not talking like she plans on fading away.
