You totally missed the point of her post, heh. Go back and read it again: she's making a comparable point to this Ayu situation that has people all in a dither.

Lee_Hamasaki 2nd January 2008 05:19 PM

Great! Ayu still is #1 and the CD-only version is going up.

It's kind of noteworthy that there's been something weird going on with the last three albums.

(miss)understood used Sweetbox songs.
Secret was originally supposed to be a mini-album, but then some songs were rushed and/or recycled and it was BAM! a full album.
GUILTY has (only?) 10 full songs and 4 interludes.

It's like album tracks are left to the sidelines or whatever.

GEO of sweetbox compositions you mean, and there were just 6 and not 16 =P
ayu liked the compositions so she wanted to use them in her own songs, I don't see anything bad about it. It's still enough original since she used her own lyrics and even renamed 2 and she found them fit into the album.

elepop 2nd January 2008 06:40 PM

Those GEO songs were so bad. :thud

Luv ~Venus~ 2nd January 2008 07:15 PM

^They are not...you have to get use to them. This is coming from a person who use to disliked them too! :laugh

jon_the_d 2nd January 2008 07:16 PM

16 [total songs] - 6 [Sweetbox] - 2 [interludes] = 8 songs.
That just screams, "OMG I NEED SONGS. *listens to random no-name CD* AH, THIS WILL DO, I SUPPOSE. NOW I NEED THEM TO GIVE THE SONGS TO ME! ME~! MEEEE!!"

Spoiler:
:rolleyes

Pride is an example for me. Though rainy day and Ladies Night have been awesome since the first listen.

stickyrice 2nd January 2008 07:28 PM

I loved the GEO songs just because it was different for ayu. The only song I couldn't tolerate was Beautiful Day... that song was so lame. but the rest were <3 Ladies Night, rainy day, Pride, even Bold & Delicious!

Agreed on Beautiful Day :yes That and In The Corner, though slightly listenable, were :grumpy

Ummm, no, ayu wrote lyrics for them, they have different arrangements as well, that's a lot of work as it is =P

*Petit* 2nd January 2008 07:57 PM

Yes, a couple of them are listenable, but IMO it doesen't change the fact that it's a very different move for ayu musically. Her versions weren't that much different musically and the sweetbox album was released almost simultaneously.

I do agree that (m) u and Secret were different in their own manner, no matter if the songs are "good" or not. Lots of confusion going on with Secret.

Luv ~Venus~ 2nd January 2008 08:44 PM

Sweetbox's Bold And Delicious was good but it was missing and that something was found in Ayumi's Bold&Delicious. Ayu's version was more lively and catchy. I do perfer Sweetbox's Pride over Ayumi's Pride. Ayumi's version for that song made me go, "Errr....!" :laugh

'In the corner' is one of my favorite song in (miss)understood !! >_<

No offense, but that sounds really rude. We're in a ayu forum. If you want to say sth bad about her, please go to an anti-ayu forum.
And about the songs, i think she made an amazing work. If we were to count how many artists have made covers we wouldn't finish. And they aren't even covers, cause she wrote lyrics for them and the arrangement is different

Jwiz 3rd January 2008 04:07 AM

^ however...in ayu forum we can't just say only things that are pleasing to our ears..some criticisms are needed [pertaining to ayu or other things] inorder to allow this forum to thrive for the better.

Yes i know. Maybe it's just that the way it was said sounded rude to me.

Wait, what? Hold up now. I don't know how you may perceive that, but I wrote that in no way trying to be rude. If you would've clicked the spoiler, you would have noticed a smiley that indicated that my point of view wasn't maybe the most realistic one. I'm sure things didn't go that far, but I found the whole matter strange.
But thanks for being the first person to try and send me to an anti-Ayumi forum!

I agree with HJeweL - this is not a shrine to worship the goddess that is Hamasaki Ayumi. This is a discussion forum where different people gather to express their different views on different subjects.

Lolz :roflmao. Sorry for the anti-ayumi forum comment. I sounded rude as well. What i just wanted to say is that maybe it was not the way to talk about the songs. Of course you have your right of disliking some of her songs, but i repeat, the way it was said sounded offensive to me. But it must have been the fact that is written, so anyone can give it the entonation they want. My apologizes.
