=== Japanese rock band School Food Punishment has announced that the band would be going on a hiatus and currently has no plans on when they would resume their activities as a band. According to Tokyo Graph, the decision was made after a discussion between the band members; vocalist Uchimaru Yumi, keyboardist Hasuo Masayuki, bassist Yamasaki Hideaki, and drummer Hidai Osamu, who would be going their own separate ways. No details of their plans or the real reason for their hiatus was mentioned for the band that was formed in 2004 and who have making a name for themselves under Sony Music Japan's Epic Records Japan division label. http://sg.entertainment.yahoo.com/ne...091400777.html |

School Food Punishment officially announces disbandment
On June 11th, School Food Punishment, who has been on an indefinite hiatus since this February, announced through their official website that with their vocalist Uchimura Yumi leaving, School Food Punishment as a group will officially disband. “SFP is really warped and distorted, so I think because of that, we were able to make CDs of wonderful music,” explained Uchimura about the details leading up to her decision to leave the band. “I wanted to stop making those wonderful things while they were [still] beautiful, so I talked with the staff and the members [of the band] about disbanding, and it ended up taking the form of a temporary hiatus.” As for her life after separating from the band, Uchimura stated, “I’ve come to know so many different things, too, like the things that are important to me, and what I’d like to do in my musical career following this. As a result of that, I decided to leave SFP. It’s important to me, so I’ll continue singing. I’d be happy if we could meet again somewhere.” The band consisted of Uchimura (vocals), Yamasaki Hideaki (bass), Hasuo Masayuki (keyboard), and Hidai Osamu (drums), and made their major debut with the single “futuristic imagination” in 2009. School Food Punishment’s highest charting album was their 2010 record “amp-reflection“. Following the announcement that the band has dissolved, their official website has also been closed. http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/06/sch...s-disbandment/ |

Former School Food Punishment member Hasuo Masayuki joins 385
It’s been revealed that former School Food Punishment member Hasuo Masayuki (Key) has joined rock band 385. After JUN (Key) left the band in April 2011, 385 had been continuing their activities by welcoming various support members including Hasuo, Hajimetal (ex. Midori), Noda Kouhei (URBAN Fetch), and Osawa Atsushi (Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai). With Hasuo as an official member of the band, 385 will hold their live event, ‘Kyokutan na Hitotachi vol. 4‘, on September 20th at Shimokitazawa SHELTER. The last time the band held this event was a year and a half ago. Details on the live will be revealed at a later date. http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/06/for...uki-joins-385/ |
Sorry for bumping a super old thread, but if any school food punishment fans are still around, I've been feeling kind of nostalgic listening to their stuff lately. They were such a great band, I hate how they disbanded so soon.
If anyone has some suggestions of bands similar to them, let me know! |
