I do think he should have paid more attention to her head angle. It's not easy for models to understand sometimes what body positions will look like at different angles from the camera.

Random, but I brought this up earlier when jesscat was talking about ayu's laugh lines, the model lena fujii, who I totally love, but whenever she smiles like really naturally...it's not really that pleasant looking :laugh So usually shots of her are not like that...

but should that mean that she never smiles like that? idk lol It's hard to say.

I do think in Ayu's case it's the deal with photographer. But don't they show her the results after they did a few shots? I mean i have seen in making ofs that they do show her the photos...:innocent
Real models actually should know the angles and stuff like that from what position they look good, how to catch the light on right place of their face, because i mean they get money for that it's their job, however in Ayu's case i think she needs help from her team to tell her this looks good and that doesn't, because she's supped to be a good singer/performer not a model. But she could do so much better in her photos. I mean take for example Namie. I don't know if she's just very photogenic or just has good team, but she always looks amazingly beautiful in most of the pictures I saw of her, i'm not talking about styling or settings, but about her posing and face. Just gorgeous!

Ayumi is the boss, she says what she wants, and based on her making offs, I would say the work don't stop until she got what she want... Even people say they like or dislike something, it's up to her and her taste how it will end up being. Queen Bee gave amazing insights about the fashion photography (at least to me who likes the subject :P), but we have to keep in mind that her covers and booklets aren't fashion shots... And that just as she always did over her whole career, pushing people out of their confort zones is a constant on Ayu music-related photoshots, and that she tends to place its importance over the importance of looking good.

We see in the NTV documentary that Ayu calls the shot on everything, even down to the font on the side of the CD case. Don't blame other people, Ayu is ultimately responsible for every product with her name on it. She says so herself.

Unless you read her diary entries saying she's being asked to do things she does not want to do and actually pay attention to all the times she's said she was going to do something only to have her managers reverse the decision. What they show in the documentary is only what they want seen to portray Ayu(the product) how they choose her to be portrayed. They even turned her diary into another staff blog when she said something they didn't approve of to her fans.

^ Do you happen to know what it was she said to her fans that they didn't approve of? I'm just curious :)
