M(A)DE IN JAPAN 2nd week position & sales - #22 ; 4,729 copies
Total 2 week sales - 34,998 At this rate I doubt it will be able to replicate the longevity that A ONE had on Oricon if this keeps up =x |
I think the sales will be similar to sixxx
|
Stayed on #16 today.

Actually they still do send flowers because i saw them at Yoyogi this year?! Really unfortunate because she seemed to have cancelled for good reasons, she wasn't just like "nah i don't want to go anymore lol cancel it"
I wish it could reach 50k ): |

It's really unfair to blame her for her first absence though, it was on the day after her hand surgery... I guess that's why everything seemed to be ok after that. The second time really damaged her rep though :(
|
Was kind of a bad idea to go to the US so close to an appearance, but I think fashion week was why things got real crazy. Some event caused some congestion and delays.

I mean look at Namie who's last tv performance was around like 2009 or something. (can't remember exact year) and she is is actually popular still but it seems like no one can get her to do a tv performance for anything. |
I think it's mostly a lack of interest on Ayu's part. I mean, withdrawing for Kouhaku and only appearing at some seasonal shows like summer festivals and so on... she must be just really selective about things atm.

Album dropped to #40 yesterday

It might be a little hard to happen, but I still think it's possible the albums sells 40,000.

I also agree that it's interest on her part in a lot of ways. She doesn't really release singles to promote and she is touring a lot of the year.
I would add that there used to be a TON of music shows, and the choices are much more limited now. In general, TV performances do not carry the same importance or interest as they did many years ago. The demographic for that type of show has largely changed. |
Appearances on things that are on LINE LIVE and other online services probably help her more than a random TV performance would, but I would like to see her do something like MUSIC FAIR 21 just so we could see her perform some interesting tracks. I forget if Bokura no Ongaku is still around.
|
I think she could still appear on those huge specials where like almost 100 artists perform, like FNS Natsu uta Matsuri, ongaku no hi etc. IMO exposure is important, and I think she could spare the time to perform a 2:30 version of something every now and then. Koda doesn't appear on Music station or any music program either but she at least sometimes attends these things despite her tours
|
Considering how bad she sounds live these days I'm not sure TV lives can be an effective way of promotion for her anyway. FNS Seasons performance caused so much backlash for example.

She was probably at her worst in 2008/2009 with TV lives. I don't recall much happening after recent lives other than maybe people commenting about it here or in the usual places that would badmouth her regardless.
