Her music and videos being gone from everywhere for this long is really weirding me out.
Has this ever happened with any artist before? I've never heard of anything like this.
I've seen speculation that Namie may want all of her music wiped and inaccessible and if that's true it just really has me questioning why.

I know it's weird, but I really don't want one of my favorite artists to be so ashamed of their music they don't want anyone to listen to it anymore and I hope that's not the case.

is it still trending on twitter? contracts can surely be affecting it, and yet it is a short period considering what happened with taylor and spotify back in 2014

It's still available to buy. The CDs are just not in print anymore and most big sellers like amazon probably got rid of the stock by now.

As for the streaming services: Its a contract revision thing. It can take a while depending on how important people in charge deem it to be. There's nothing we can do other than someone writing a mail to her distributer (whoever is holding the rights of her music by now, I still find this confusing after DSP was founded) and straight up just ask them. If not, all we can do is wait.

So... no news about her music on streaming services? No news about herself? No fan have found her after 2020 just to say she's alive and well? :\

Someone posted on Threads that they saw Namie out for a run somewhere a few months ago. She's still around, just living the peaceful life she wants.

Not really Namie related but I'm currently playing the Tomb Raider remasters which reminded me of when I was playing the TR Anniversary, I used to listen to Play on my CD player. If only her music was still on Spotify, I could put on Play for the nostalgia.

Went to Tokyo last month I was so happy to see well stocked Namie shelf on Tower Records Shibuya!

I think I have 1-2 albums double from my last trip to Tokyo since I always forget which editions I own. They ar usually just 300 yen used. They would be up for grabs.

BTW, Janet Jackson made a show in Tokyo this week. So if there was a place ANYWHERE in the world that we could see Namie Amuro, is there. Any news about it? I'm 100% sure she attended Janet's tour.

It broke my heart! So what I ended up doing is buying a Sony Walkman MP3player, used, from a website that sells used items, for 25 euros + shipping. I dug my old hard drive with all my ripped Namie CD's and put them on it. I carry it around in my make-up bag :D

I get that I'm litigating a discourse that has probably been had a long time ago but... how come her international fans refer to her by Namie Amuro when Amuro Namie works better for her? At least with last name-first name you are not enunciating three vowels in a row

Thats a weird question. Saying the last name first is just a culture thing most westerners are just not used to. Has nothing to do with what sounds better (as for me, there is not really a difference).
