Also if you read the All Night Nippon where she talks about her mother, It almost sounds like her mother treated her as a mistake.

I think that her mom was more of the 'provider' of the family, and thus wasn't allowed to have much of a relationship wtih Ayu ~

She can't be a mix-blood. No. The only explanation is:She really like US, and also UK I think. (Remember her UK flag outfit in concerts) Inspite of being a pure Japanese she's so fond of English things that she dyes her hair into blonde and all her song titles are in English. But the fact that her English sucks is no doubt. Maybe that is the reason why she uses little English in her lyrics --- it's hard for her to sing.

So to make a conclusion: She is a 100% Japanese. And she loves English culture (US esp).

ayumi is definately pure japanese
she looks very japanese, look at some japanese people
and many japanese people are obsessed about american's, so its not shocking to know how much she is.. e.g she writes her surname last, the american way instead of the traditional japanese way (surname first)
and having dark brown hair isnt non asian, many asian kids now adays have naturally brown hair, i even saw a kid on the subway with light brown hair, with his parents (ALL DARK HAIR) and his sisster had dark brown hair (it wasnt dyed becuz his eyebrows and body hair was light brown too)
