Koda Kumi, she has overrun ayu in most ways

Koda Kumi and Utada Hikaru got my vote 8D They sound better live, MUCH BETTER! Also, they aren't afraid to experiment with new styles and stuff, while Ayu just sticks to the same styles =\

I love love love love Ayumi Hamasaki so much much much,
but there is some better singer than Ayumi vocally..

the best vocal for me is YUNA ITO, her voice is so so so good!
and HIKKI, her voice is also better than Ayumi, but that doesn't mean Ayu's voice is bad and all, I like her voice so much, but ITO and HIKKI voice are better I have to say.

but there's no doubt that YUNA ITO's ce is voice is really really good.
but overall I like AYUMI HAMASAKI the best!

i dunno...ayu is pretty damn good. hahaha....but i appreciate the coolness and exoticism of Amuro Namie :P the soothing voice of Utada Hikaru, and the fun i get from listening to Otsuka Ai's songs.

Ewww.... no offense, Mika Nakashima? She is skinny, has very dry voice, like she has been smoking for centuries.
I love her as Nana tho'. To my surprise, she's a good actrees

Um...most of these girls are skinny. And if she'd been smoking for that long, then she wouldn't have the amazing voice that she has.

I believe Angela Aki is like, better than her. I just think she can sing better than Ayu.

Utada hikaru and Ayu, you can say that they are so-so. But i'm not impressed with Hikki's songs lately. I dunno, she sounds... grainy =\\

I still think hitomi is the only one of beat Ayu. Still not listed though.

i think namie amuro , hitomi shimatani, and eiko shimamiya have better voices than ayu, but holistically ayu beats them all.

There are a LOT of artists that are better than Ayu ^^

umm you need an other section, but I have to say recently I have really liked ayaka (iida if you don't known which one I'm talking about) songs and I love her somewhat unique voice.

Amano tsukiko, RURUTIA, namie, Kuu, Ai, hikki, ayaka, mika, suzuki ami, hitomi shimatani and Shiina Ringo and Fiction Kunction YUUKA are all awesome. But IMO they aren't as captivating and interesting as Ayu. They don't get me hooked to their songs - except Kuu and Ai.
