Official cover:

For a simple one it's not bad, but it could have been much more interesting.

OH NOES.

Cover for Tangled Up.

But it's from Wikipedia so fingers crossed that it's fanmade or a promo cover or something.

But here's the amazing cover for Call the Shots to save the day.

Yeah, it seems like they shot this and Sexy! No No No... in one go, but I like the outfits better on this one. I have no idea how they can constantly take such amazing group shots.

Hate to say it, but they'e such *****s now. I used to love them before, they've changed. :[

Cyria 20th October 2007 05:44 PM

I wish the Call the Shots cover was the album cover instead. It has the same theme as the official one, same colours, and the girls look good.

I agree. I can't believe the album cover doesn't even feature them, as all their others have (with the exception of their greatest hits compilation). I really hope that's not the official album cover.

I found this quote, unfortunately the original source wasn't included:

Quote:

It has been confirmed by Jenny Smith at Fascination records... heres what she had too say about the cover. The Girls are in the tabloids all the time and the girls wanted a cover that is more grown up. The colours and their whole campaign is a bit more "magazine-like" (hope that makes sense). We are still going to have pictures of the girls on the single format (different ones for the 2 track singles and for the maxis) but wanted to use something different for the album. Our research has also shown that some people find it embarrassing to buy CD with Girl/Boyband pictures on the cover. In order to reach a broader audience and encourage more sales we wanted to have a more neutral look for the album.

It has also been confirmed by Fascination that there will be a special edition (fan) version of Tangled up that will be available via the girls official site and in one other shop that has not yet been confirmed!
I hope the special edition has extra tracks and not something like just a different booklet.

bondingo 21st October 2007 10:12 AM

A special edition? I'm excited for it and I'll probably be buying that version. Hopefully it has a different cover at the very least. Obviously more tracks or a DVD with their greatest hits tour would be best.

Now that I think about it, they do look like they're... tangled up. So I agree, it would fit really nicely.

I'll pray for a last-minute change in the album cover, a GA album where they don't grace the cover is unimaginable. :/ [Though I can see where they're coming from when they mention 'embarrassment'.]

Has anyone heard anything about a b-side for the new single?

I read that it's supposedly a Love Machine live, but some fans are hoping it will be changed since that live is already available on DVD. CD1 and CD2 have been reported to have different B-sides; I don't know details of what the other one is supposed to be, just something that won't be on Tangled Up.

Cyria 29th October 2007 08:00 PM

Album tracklist:

1. Call The Shots
2. Close To Love
3. Sexy! No, No, No...
4. Girl Overboard
5. Can't Speak French
6. Black Jacks
7. Control Of The Knife
8. Fling
9. What You Crying For
10. I'm Falling
11. Damn
12. Crocodile Tears

milky_way 29th October 2007 08:10 PM

Awesome!! The song names are interesting and they sound like they'll be fun songs. There's only supposed to be one ballad right?

I hadn't heard about that, but I hope it's true. Their edgy/upbeat songs are just so awesome that I don't want them to waste any time on ballads!

criminal 29th October 2007 09:07 PM

Every title besides "Damn" sounds exciting. I suspect the album will be top notch from tracks 1-7 and then slowly, but surely will sink into mediocreness. :P

milky_way 29th October 2007 09:08 PM

I read it on Wiki, which I know isn't a credible source, and the source quoted was from this interview with Cheryl. When I actually read over the interview, it said at that time there was only one, so they could've added more. I hope there's only one ballad because like you said, the upbeat songs are just pure awesomeness :D

bondingo 29th October 2007 09:56 PM

I heard the ballad thing as well. I'm glad the tracklist is released though. Control of the Knife just cracks me up. What an odd title :laugh

Cyria 30th October 2007 06:10 PM

Official tracklisting:

CD1
01. Call The Shots
02. Rehab (from Radio 1 - Jo Whiley Live Lounge Session)

CD2
01. Call The Shots
02. Call The Shots (Xenomaina Club Mix)
03. Blow Your Cover
04. Call The Shots (Video)

They're covering Amy Winehouse! That will be interesting.

criminal 30th October 2007 10:11 PM

Ah, I heard and saw the PV for Call the Shots just earlier today. AND OMG. Totally redefines my love for Girls Aloud. Love the song and the video, especially the colors - they're so pretty.
Yeah, you can tell I'm excited for Tangled Up - the couple that is Sexy! No No No... and Call the Shots beats the couple that is Long Hot Summer and Biology. [only due to the not-so-top-notch Long Hot Summer. :P]

Pop Justice:

Quote:

1. This is the sleeve for the promo -->

2. 'Girl Overboard' is a massive Euro rave-up extravaganza and should be a single unless there is a tragic event involving a girl falling off a boat or maybe if there is some sort of real-life version of the hilarious Goldie Hawn film 'Overboard' in which Goldie Hawn actually died instead of just amusingly lost her memory because then Radio One wouldn't play it due to 'concerns over the public mood etc'.

3. Every time it's been on in the office 'Sexy! No No No...' has been mercilessly skipped and after we'd finished listening to it the first time there was literally an argument over which song we'd listen to again first.

4. 'Fling' is sort of like 'Wake Me Up' from the year 2012.

5. There are NO BALLADS and NO COVERS.

6. "I can't speak French, so I let the funky music do the talking, talking now." That is a good lyric.

7. We've listened to it 180 times and it's only been in the office since 9am.

8. It's the best Girls Aloud album of all time and is better than the Sugababes, Kylie and Britney albums although we've just done a review for someone giving the Britney album 5/5 so we suppose that probably makes 'Tangled Up' a 6/5 album. Which our calculator tells us is 1.2. Which is 120%. "They've really given it 120%" etc etc.

9. It's out at some point in November and would make the ideal Christmas present for someone who likes amazing pop music.

10. There you go.
Aaaah!

It's ridiculous how much I'm anticipating this. :)
