Maybe she should try jazz-pop.

no..she's not coming here...though i wish she will.

and anyway, ayu did not really dissappear from the music scence, she just lose a number of fans.

i believe this A-Best2 will help her find some more new fans.

Ayumiko 6th March 2007 03:04 AM

lol..:laugh what the heck is the hong kong and singapore thing?? she is not even going to singapore...and shes still involved in making music...still write all the lyrics and she only stopped composing...last one she did was WILL with DAI....what evidence is there that avex is forcing her to make music again? this is so interesting

slowmoth 6th March 2007 06:00 AM

She doesn't have to try other styles, it's time to dissapear from the stage for a little so people will realize how much they miss ayu and everybody will say "oh Japan is not the same without ayu" (then she come back with a duet song :) or a trance album)

oh YEAH! you've juz said it!..
very right.. i agree...~

truehappiness 6th March 2007 08:55 AM

No, AHS will not be the same.

Imagine, two years of nothing but Chat Room. O_O
The health of this place will go down into the "red zone" [like in fighting games.].. would we all even stay if she went on an extended hiatus?

Choyan 6th March 2007 09:30 AM

maybe she can try singing in a new key! XD like... the key that part of Me is in...she seems to use that commonly, but...maybe her voice is most comfortable there, but hey! just go up or down one key or something XD
it's not going to be THAT BAD XD

ah well, her choice, her career, I'm just a consumer.

But if Ayu were to take a break and reinvent herself completely, i think we would have her again like we did in the early days. with good music....Based on my analysis it shows that most people didnt like "SECRET" because it was so rushed out there few songs sounded finish. "Until That Day" sounded kind of raw and so did others. It seems "IT WAS" was well mastered and her heart was in it just as "1LOVE" but if Ayu took a break and made a huge comeback she can win alot of her fans back.People keep being positive about Ayu saying she is still doing this and doing that.
I think a few need to go to Japan and see it for themselves that is all i am saying and see who has the most billboards it isnt anyone in Avex Trax!

They are the only ones who got the 'point' of your thread because they are the only ones who agreed with you.

Frankly, if she needs a comeback, she won't be still be the #1 selling artiste. (Koda aside).

truehappiness 6th March 2007 11:47 AM

Well, comparing Ayu and Koda's no.1 to total release ratio is quite telling.
She doesn't need a comeback at all ;D

A-BEST 2 sales are lower than expectation. What does Ayu, really have to do in order to get back her crown of the queen of jpop? because surely now its known it defantly isnt her anymore? do you fans have any ideas here are mine.

1.Image change, cut the hair short and die it black : example

2. Fire all the producers hire fresh new faces and start composing as Crea again and work with HAL and DAI they defantly did great work on her stuff.

3.Change up to different styles and be daring. Ayu in electronica was awesome look at I AM.

4. Rock!!! Every one seems to love Ayu's rockier and edgier songs. Duty was explosive

5.constantly promote! promote! promote! advertise more products, new songs.
6. Surprise fans with a hip hop or R&B song!

those are my ideas what are yours?

6. No more ballads don't sound similar or the same

the comeback here means of changes...:msneaky
its not that we agreed that made us understand it..

alt.total-loser 7th March 2007 02:48 AM

Ayu should try some piano pop. Piano hip-hop. Oh, yes. Then she'd make a... comback.

Kikaru 7th March 2007 05:01 AM

To be honest, what's really left for her to try?

Sure, there's urban, but I sense that her somewhat rock-based fans would not react that well to it. Songs like B&D and Pride wasn't exactly well-received, and it was pretty new (I can't find another song like it). Plus her voice doesn't really go that well with RnB and hip-hop, or jazz.

ph33r 7th March 2007 11:33 PM

There's no comeback to be made anymore...her era is, plain and simple, over. Remember the 2004 NTV interview? She said it herself that her era is over (I forget the exact words)

truehappiness 8th March 2007 12:12 AM

IMO, she still has something..

She's still pulling sales that most solo females cannot even dream of.. :O~

ph33r 8th March 2007 02:06 AM

Well of course..what I meant is that its all a decline now. Not like it's a sudden drop..

Yeah, it's just ridiculous how people keep asking her to make a comeback. How can she comeback from ALREADY SO MANY innovative ideas? :irked Even if she changes her style, the market might not like it and she'll have to revert back to her old style because that's what sells. She's not a free entertainer. She's earning her own living too. She doesn't suit every single style in this world.

And IMO, she doesn't need a comeback. She's already a POP ICON, LEGEND even in Japan. Try finding another Ayumi Hamasaki.

:) yeah! :grumpy just dunno why people are complaining... she is doing very well, i think. well, no one can be popular forever and top the chart list eternally, isnt it?

Take madonna as an example, she used to be amazingly popular, became a trend setter (like wut ayu was a few years back), household name, u name it. And look at her now, who dares to say that madonna is not popular, and she is not doing well because her albums are selling as well as it used to be? She is one of the richest female artise! Common! Stop being grumpy :grumpy :eviltongu and complain about part of Me, i think its just fine and i like her because of her ballads:luv2 :love

See! :tired At least she is down to earth and know wut is going on:headache ! But neh~ her era is over doesnt mean its the end of her career... she could do something else, open a business, may b :rolleyes

I totally agree! People need to realize that Ayu's genre of music isn't what's popular anymore, but it doesn't mean she's no longer relevant as an artist. I see some people want her to try the urban/hip hop genre... I just can't see Ayu doing Kuu-type songs lol. She's fine where she's at right now. No one can hold the number 1 spot forever. She still sells well, and will continue to sell until the end... whenever that will be.
