Both.
I feel that despite the fact that I have more J-Pop than K-Pop on my itunes, i find that the quality of the K-Pop songs I have are much better than the the J-Pop. But I listen to both equally regardless. |
Jpop. It just sounds more catchy, more fun, and less like repetitive post 2010 R&B that I hear on American radio every day.
To be honest, I don't like the sound of the Korean language being sung that much (I love the way it sounds when it is spoken, so don't kill me) , but that does not stop me from enjoying a few K-pop songs every once in a while. EDIT: it's not that I dislike Korean music as a whole, I just dislike the stage it's in right now with the overkill girl/boy bands, it's just people fawning over how sexy or cute they are, while the music isn't anything special ( not horrible, but nothing to die over) .The older stuff and the music by solo artists are still very good, it feels more about the music than the people singing it. |

As for me : JPop > CPop > KPop
|
Both. It's hard to pick between the two.
K-Pop has better CD packaging (in my opinion), and J-Pop seems less generic to me compared to K-Pop. |
J-POP! (^O^)/ always♪ (less, Korean?) don't like the language... it's weird!(笑)
|
J-pop for me!!
I only like Girls' Generation + a few other Korean songs, but I listen to tons and tons of J-pop!! |
J-pop... though I feel like most others like k-pop more. Apparently not, according to this poll!
I just feel like J-pop is more versatile and there's more originality. |
j-pop... i dont understand a single word in korean btw
|
J-Pop. Just because I've been a fan of it for a very long time. K-Pop I got into last year. I think both genres are wonderful though. But I prefer the Korean male vocalists! They're sexier and have better voices than Japanese males, to be honest. (But Yuya Matsushita's voice is beautiful too).

J-Pop. Like a lot of other people have said, J-Pop just feels a lot less generic than K-Pop, although I will admit that K-Pop is usually very well-produced. I like two or three K-Pop groups, but that's about it.

J-Pop >>>>>>
|
I prefer J-Pop to K-Pop, but I would not discredit K-Pop. I haven't listened to all K-Pop or even J-Pop singers, so I can't make any grand sweeping assumptions about either genre. Neither is better than the other, as its all an opinion.

J-Pop for me.
|
I listen to J-pop more.
|
Jpop by like, 8 billion light years.
|
I've had a huge change of heart since the last time I voted on this poll. I really don't listen to much J-pop anymore, other than Ayu (which is also becoming a rarity), Namie Amuro, MAA, & Perfume.
God I can't believe that was back in '08 that I posted in here. A LOT has changed in those 4 years haha. |
