^OMG Yes! Absolutely horrid and gross. I can't believe X-tina did such a garbage video. It looked so damn cheap. :grumpy Just look at it. It's just cheap....she looks crazy with that cheap looking catwoman outfit on. Ugh. I'm seriously disappointed in X-tina for that video. :no

dddaiyamondo 30th October 2008 06:16 AM

^IKR the entire thing looks like a bunch of hideous Halloween costumes. And she couldn't be ripping off Lady Gaga any harder with the bangs and the hood.

bondingo 30th October 2008 06:33 AM

I absolutely adore Christina, but that video...seriously? She spent the whole time in the editing booth with brief glimpses of her characters. I couldn't even believe how much it failed to live up to its potential.

Anyway, The Fame is a great album. Its already grown on me a lot. Paper Gangsta is easily my favorite song on the entire album. There's just something amazing about it.

Everything about Chrissy Ag has sucked since Ain't Another Man if I may say so. That includes Back to Basics. :puke

I'm a new fan of Lady G since Tuesday. I love her fashion sense. :P

Agreed, I haven't liked her for a long time. After Stripped she went so far downhill.

EDIT: I've been listeing to The Fame for a while, and I think a lot of it relies on style over substance. Songs like "Beautiful Dirty Rich," "Love Game," and "Money Honey" are really hollow to me; not much substance at all. She really shines when she's actually singing and using real melodies ("Paparazzi," "Poker Face," "Eh Eh").

i got the US retail of The Fame and i must say, i love "Starstruck" more than any of the songs on the canadian release!

MemorialAddress 1st November 2008 06:06 AM

I bought the US version today :D
But I realized it doesn't have the track Again Again, so I kept that one from my old DL hehehe

se7entheaven 1st November 2008 06:03 PM

I bought teh EU version
finally ^^
I just started to like her
JUST DANCE !!!

p3ayu 2nd November 2008 09:33 PM

I bought the album online last night while it was still super cheap since I couldn't make it to the store before today. I'm really excited about it even though I've been listening to the version I downloaded for the past 2-3 weeks :)

About the whole Christina thing though...I think although her new look resembles Lady Gaga a lot, they're so different to me that the "copying" idea is getting old. Not too happy with the KGB video. I loved Back to Basics and this new shift in styles is still growing on me :/

I didn't know that Lady Gaga released a music video for "Beautiful Dirty Rich". I love her originality and how she's bringing something new and fresh to the table.

^I didn't either. Anyway, from Billboard:

Quote:

Lady GaGa's debut Streamline/Interscope album, "The Fame," bows at No. 17 with 24,000. The set's first single, "Just Dance," debuts on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart this week at No. 34, after peaking at No. 2 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in June.
Wow, that sucks!

Kaiouforever 6th November 2008 04:38 AM

But she gets an international release, so as long as she sells well worldwide, I think that's good, especially for a debut artist! Not everyone can be in the top 10...and we'll be supporting her. =]

Damn I was expecting higher. Her single "Just Dance" went platinum in Australia.

dddaiyamondo 6th November 2008 06:11 AM

^Maybe she'll be like Madonna and do OK in the States and great elsewhere?

Meat Pao 6th November 2008 06:39 AM

Oh dear, #17 is too low D: I was expecting she'd get into like the top 10 at least. What a shame ):

Aggar 6th November 2008 06:58 AM

I saw her performance in Miss Universe 2008 and I though she was just newcomer with little fame . But then after I saw her PV Poker face .. I started to like her . I love that song .

Well, she's new and newbies tend to get low positions but IMO, her being in the top 20 is GREAT. She hella bettah than Utada did. :cry

IMO, Poker Face wasn't getting enough airplay around the time of it's release so that's prolly why it ended up in that position. I hope her selss continue to rise. I've heard some of her album and so far, it's great. :yes

Poker Face + Just Dance = Dance Anthems of 08 :heart

dddaiyamondo 9th November 2008 11:29 AM

^Yes, and "Starstruck" and also "Paparazzi". I feel like that song could be HUGE!

p3ayu 9th November 2008 10:26 PM

I think there should've been a little more American promotion cause she seriously rocks it and didn't she get pretty good reviews for The Fame?? Oh well, some artists get bigger after the album is released so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
