You never know, perhaps we will see a Chinese lyric pop up in a future song instead of an English one.

I don't mind if she trys to diversifty in her future works but I honestly can't understand her chinese dictation when I was listening to it earlier on :no

maybe it's just me I don't know

Qt Mashi 20th September 2008 10:47 AM

i love it! i can understand bits and pieces!

i have a feeling Ayu will sing more chinese songs in the future!

Sweet_Ai 20th September 2008 05:18 PM

I like it, I really do, but I feel like she was singing with no feeling. The song felt dead. Maybe because she can't really connect in Chinese since she doesn't speak it.

truehappiness 20th September 2008 05:19 PM

Strange. Listening to and understanding the Chinese version..

It feels sort of weird because I feel like crying moreso than I do when listening to the Japanese version. WTF?

@ above poster: No feeling? She's singing with the same if not more feeling than she usually does for Who... -weird look-

acougan 20th September 2008 06:03 PM

i'll give her +10 for the effort. also a nice touch for her Asian fans. but one listen is enough :X, i'll stick with the original version.

my thoughts exactly

Well, I found most of the song pretty understandable, though there are some words which are hard to pronounce for novice Chinese speakers, hard to understand.

Even so, I really give her an A+ for her effort, Chinese is honestly not an easy language to speak...

And, I don't think she's singing this "without feeling". Honestly, you could feel that same emotion from the Japanese. Her lower voice here makes her emotions even more vivid... And then when you start hearing, you remember that she's doing all these for her Asian fans... isn't it touching, at the very least?

Kudos to Ayu for making such a breakthrough! Does anyone think she'll be in the Guiness records for being the first Japanese singer to re-record a track in Chinese?

Who... (Chinese version) has been on my i-Tunes for 8 times!

truehappiness 21st September 2008 06:30 AM

She's not the first. I'm sure others have done it in the past.

PEARL 21st September 2008 10:37 AM

super nice i listened it the whole night ytd , i played it to sleep ^_^
so much feel although her prouncation not v clear , but who cares? :D

k21sh3n 21st September 2008 12:29 PM

no offense, but I can't catch the words though I speak chinese.. but can see the effort she put..

truehappiness 21st September 2008 09:17 PM

I must note that singing the lyrics that were written to the Who.. instrumental is REALLY hard. Especially correctly in Chinese. wtf.

CHE.R.RY 21st September 2008 10:06 PM

Erm...I don't know if I agree with Ayu's Chinese sounding fluent...but it's not terrible by any means. She did sound a little awkward in some parts, but she still did a pretty good job IMO.

Catzi 22nd September 2008 03:21 AM

It's not as good as the original, but Ayu put in a good effort. So props for that! :thumbsup

mimika 9th October 2008 12:46 AM

I appreciate her effort..although honestly I have to say the accent is really thick...can't understand her 90% of the time

Choyan 9th October 2008 01:55 AM

I say she made v.good effort but yeah XD can't hear what she's singing much XD~~ hehehe

it looks liek they made this change quite last min :?~~ so in such short time, eh, it's good attempt la~
but yeah, I think she should practice a little more XD~

xLitax 9th October 2008 05:34 AM

I thought the singing was beautiful. I couldn't even tell it was Ayu at first.

Strawberryfieldsforever 9th October 2008 05:41 AM

It was bad seriously, no offence. It makes my hair stands. I know it's not her native language but if she wants to do it, she could do even better.

emi♡ 9th October 2008 06:02 AM

Man this song takes me back to when ayu's songs were expertly composed...

anyway...I don't speak Chinese, so to me it sounds like she's speaking really funny Japanese with words I don't know :laugh

her vocals are...ew...but I know very few people who can sing Who... well so, and her voice has changed so...I'll let it go. I do wish she would raise her recording standards though...lately they've been lax imo...

This version actually makes me laugh a lot...I'm sorry Ayu...

greggerz189 9th October 2008 06:10 AM

I'm glad she gave it a try, but it's certainly a long way from sounding like proficient Chinese, IMO, and I'm not all that well-versed in Mandarin in the least. From a vocal standpoint, though, I think her 10th Anniversary Version and Mandarin Version are both superb la.

LacusClyne 9th October 2008 01:10 PM

hmmm...by now, i had played the chinese version at least 40 times and i still love it.....
