Best post in this thread lol

-I thought Kurumi Hamasaki was her real name and that Ayumi Hamasaki was her stage name (got those confused XD)
-I kept pronouncing the "XX" in "A Song for XX"
-I kept pronouncing LOVEppears as "Love-appears"
-I thought Ayu had an older brother XD
-I thought that old magazine photo with Ayu and the elderly lady was Ayu with her grandmother
-I thought the pauses in Evolution were a result of a corrupted mp3 file

I thought she could make no mistakes and had complete control over her life and career.

Crap, both of these are still true for me, and I've been a fan since 2004. D:

Also, slightly unrelated, but until very recent;y, I always thought a "jedi" was what that green thing Yoda was; like, I thought jedis were the race of green things with the pointy ears. I've never seen the Star Wars movies, and I just recently found out I was mistaken. :D People would say Luke Skywalker is a jedi and I'd be like, "No, he's a human."

I listened to Memorial Address before Rainbow when I became a fan, and when I saw HANABI ~episode II~ I thought "For God's sake, where is the episode I ???"
xD

I've been a casual listener for a very long time, but I became a hard core fan around the time guilty came out. You know I had to listen to every remix, watch every performance and music video, blah blah blah. So some of these I didn't realize until around 2009 or so. haha

- I kept calling forgiveness "fairlyland" because of the music video. (Remember I've been a fan since rainbow, but didn't really watch any of her pvs until I became a hardcore fan around Guilty's era so naturally I ended up watching fairyland first)

- For the longest time I thought "butterfly" was her song.

- On my computer for many years I had kanariya labeled as "appears (Armin van Buuren remix)", and appears labeled as "kanariya (system F remix)".

- Up until a few years ago I thought in July 1st she was saying "OMG" instead of "orenji".

- I didn't know ever free existed for a very long time. It has no official pv, and was never performed live and doesn't have any remixes (besides Hal's and orchestra). I never bought her vogue single and didn't listen to ayumix 3 for years so until someone pointed it out that she as a song on vogue after all the remixes I didn't know about it.

- I thought Ladies night was a single. I'm used to American releases where songs only get music videos and remixes if they're singles and since LN had ~another night~ and the ayumix 6 remix and a music video, I was trying to find the cd single for it. I don't know why I only believed it for Ladies night since she has tons of non-single songs which remixes and videos, but oh well.

- I thought independent and + were the same song because every time I listened to it on rainbow and I would play it as background music and not realize when it would change over.

- I didn't know ayu was on the UNITE! cd single cover. I thought it was a guy.

- When I first got into her, I thought MOON (the compilation live idol performances) was an official album.

- I thoroughly believed no way to say actually had a "Special limited edition snowflake" version of the cd single.

- I thought Memorial address had a music video. I really don't know why I thought this because there was never a rumor about it but all the other songs on the cd had videos besides MA and I thought my dvd was corrupt or something.

- I thought vogue was a rip off of Madonna's song. Before I even listened to it I was bitching about her plagiarizing. Then I heard it and realized how different it was. lol It was because of the title.

- Just like how appears and kanariya were mislabeled on my computer cause the site I downloaded them from accidentally switched them, I thought the acoustic version of teens was the original. To this day people still pass around the acoustic version and keep calling it the original version, so it took me a long time to realize on my computer that "teens" and "teens (acoustic version)" were the same song file. To this day I've only heard the actual original version once.

-I thought the live of My Name's Women (AT08) was the live of the AT05
-I thought Ayu was a ballads singer.
-I thought the final of Monochrome was a error.

And I never thought Butterfly to be her song, at that time I was a fan of SMILE.DK.
