Ayu is doing better than almost all of the releases that were out the last week (besides arashi). I am really amazed with Rule/Sparkle's success :)

So is it the power of the tie-in or Ayu and the song?? lol..

I think the movie will help :) I had watched the movie.. apparently the instrumentals was in the movie itself and immediately after the show ended, Rule can be heard at the start of the Credits.

According to the wikipeia article concerning her discography, she passed that mark with the release of "Rule / Sparkle". :)

Im wondering how much she really sold, the 50 million are only in japan but she sold millions of albums in other asian countrys, too...and tons of bootlegs o.0

EDIT:
I just counted together the album and compilation albums sales outside of japan, its over 18 million!!! Im wondering how much her singles and dvds sold outside japan, I think its possible that she is near 100 million already
