Well.. she's #4, so that's good. I mean she could have completely fallen off the charts for one thing or another. She still managed to debut at #1, and sales aren't really awful considering her time in the industry and the industry's lack of "amazing" sales anymore anyway.

So.. I'm happy!

adantatu2 11th May 2010 09:56 PM

Great 4 ayu, but oricon is diying

AngelSenshi 11th May 2010 10:07 PM

It seems no ones interested in physical releases that much anymore, huh? I love getting physical releases though.

Spoiler:
I ordered Sadie's Singles album, and Dress single in both editions; the box of the Singles album had such an awesome design, and the CD of the CD Only of the single was soo cool; all that reminded me why I love physical releases

Nackar_91 11th May 2010 10:37 PM

I love physical releases to death, got way too many of 'em. The problem is : They're so damn expensive >.<

adantatu2 12th May 2010 12:48 AM

^that's so true
The japanese albums are so expensive, and the CD+DVD editions are the most expensive

Yeah! They're more than the cost of an album here in the US. And if you tack on shipping it could jump up to $30 total depending on your location... A lot of the time, singles are not worth it to me. However.... I do have multiple copies of some of singles since 2008 <_<....

Crystal_Ageha 12th May 2010 02:00 AM

^* Man, I would definitely buy nearly twice as many CDs if they would only cut the price down by 10USD, so that it's the average cost of a U.S. CD, like I'm used to... Hell, I'll even go for $5. >_<' I almost always buy DVD versions, and I usually buy two CDs at a time..... With shipping, my average order comes out to about $80 (with the coupons and such...:D). ......That's a lot. :grumpy

rainydayumi 12th May 2010 02:03 AM

wow! she did 13114 copies, so that means her sales only dropped by 39% this week! in the same week next level dropped by 54%. i think with some luck this album can drop by smaller amounts and sell a lot more from now on! :D

PEARL 12th May 2010 05:10 AM

go ayu!
i remember reading in a newspaper that Japan's cds are the most expensive in the world...
is like triple or something more than the US

ストロボ・EdGE 12th May 2010 05:30 AM

Most CD's in the US are $15 or so. Once they're a bit older they can go below $10. It's not fair how expensive music in Japan is! I'd own everything by every artist I liked if albums were that inexpensive.

truehappiness 12th May 2010 06:12 AM

Well, people can still sell a lot.

Look at Arashi. Their last recent DVD-thing has sold 650k+... and that's a super expensive DVD set, haha.

I suppose it just really depends. 99% of the industry is in the crapper, but like 1% of the artists out there are doing as well as acts in the late 90s/early 00s~

Foyuki 12th May 2010 06:33 AM

300k is enough ~
now when I got RNRC offical copy(not the sample ver.)
I just played the CD once.I do comprehend why Japanese are languid about ayu —_—

truehappiness 12th May 2010 06:41 AM

I don't really play my Ayu CDs all that much after I get them because... I don't really have many CD players around, haha.

Well, the us is really cheap. Here it's the same, but in euros, so in the end it costs a bit more XD.

I read RIAJ's year book and found out something interesting:

In Japan, only a third of the amount of albums they sell in the US are sold. There's a difference of around 260million. In Japan they do sell 50million physical singles, as opposed to the 2 million in the US. All in All, in the US they sell around 210million more records than in Japan. Yet the profit numbers for both countries are VERY close alike XD.

Must be because of the ridiculous prices in Japan >.>

lol here too though we got a great peak with 20/25 euros per album ^w^ and single were around 6/7 euros .... I remember the old good time were it was 25 francs, then something like 2.50/3 euros .... ^w^ they wonder why we dl ... urgh lower the price first and after we will see -_-

Already read a whole french article about US vs Japan, and all, in fact Ayumi sell rather correctly, ok it's lower than before but seeing the market, she still very correctly.

Nackar_91 12th May 2010 11:04 AM

Yeah, plus I think it's amazing how Japanese singers can be so succesful Asiawide when their reach is much shorter than artists who sing in English!

ayumisrael 12th May 2010 11:25 AM
