Though I guess that's also biased because my general exposure to imagery with rope these days tends to be very clean. So the feeling of being bound is still there without the other stuff.
It's clean and focuses on the symbolism the rope holds while her facial expresses the emotion on an album cover probably since A Best and before that A song for xx. Typically she's more vacant. But here you can tell she is feeling different things. Mostly negative but possibly with some will to go on.

I'm curious to see if she uses the rope in the rest of the album shoot. This cover just really gives me such a different vibe from usual.

If she had been dirty it would have looked too much like Never Ever :yes

A comparison.

Iconic imo and a different vibe completely from all covers before it.

dem covers that just got pasted over though... wtf?

She's never looked more vulnerable minus say, A BEST, but even that has the "A PERFECTION" thing going for the hair and general look.

It's really a rebirth of sorts IMO for her.

It's so cool how this image of her is reminiscent of both the covers for ASFXX and A BEST. The straight forward gaze that captures the viewer, leaving them with an impression that she has something very important to convey. So cool.

On another note, I don't know if many people feel this way, but the covers for Colours are some of my absolute favorites. :love Seeing it on this little collage reminded me of that.

Colours' CD only ver. is one of my favorites.

All five covers are out on TA. Nothing too different but images are striking. TA versions abandon the rope.

elaniel 6th June 2016 09:30 AM

That's disappointing that the TA versions don't have it.

Aderianu 6th June 2016 09:33 AM

as much as CD+DVD are strong, CD and CD+BD are weak xD

yamadashun 6th June 2016 09:36 AM

I'm a bit disappointed there's no at least half-body version for the cover... Also, the TA version is brighter in colour. I wonder is it intentional?

rainbow_smile 6th June 2016 09:42 AM

Since the TA version comes with a sleeve case (?) it would've been cool if it featured the pic with a rope and underneath it is a pic without it, portraying that she got freedom eventually

Or the other way around. The sleeve case features Ayu without the rope, the way the outside world sees her, but the actual cover is her with a rope, the way she feels on the inside underneath the mask she puts on in public.

But I'm not getting my hopes up since it's not very likely :laugh

a lil disappointed that TA Version is so different, and disappoined that there is only close-ups again...
On the CD only she looks so stoned o.o Guess I will buy the CD+DVD also because I like the cover so much.

This is very cool and creative! I hope Avex will read this.

I will get my TA version with the stickers. will be more compact for shipping, and poster is common mu-mo extra, so chance is bigger I can buy it seperate on yahoo.

Umm it's a close up shot with text superimposed on it.... It's a pretty picture and the album is good but let's not go round pretending like it's the second coming of christ lol.

ayumisrael 6th June 2016 10:04 AM

I really love the non TA covers. CD+DVD is the best though I'm still getting the BD one.
It reminds me alan's single covers concept.

The TA version covers are probably delivering kinda of doubtful brighter message but I much prefer the non TA ayu binded covers.
