Once again this is your personal opinion which is in my opinion far from what she actually sounds like. She has had her low points and it happens that she sounds pretty bad at times, but not nearly as bad as you make it seem.

Overall 95% of the time I've attended her lives she sounded good~awesome. Her worst years were 2006-2009.

back to #38 today.

@Bigtop: She also performed in 2012, it had some backlash because of the vocals (which were pretty bad anyway). Last year she did it again, but it was better. She sounds fine right now, good enough for live tv.

As far as I know, the most backlash she ever had for a performance was the Best Artist 2009, which she even apologize saying it was her "personal worst" (for a TV performance, yes it was, but CDL 2007-2008 still haunts me).

I'm sure it's not a problem of her being invited for those shows, she probably doesn't want to do them anymore. The same goes for Namie and Kumi. Even Music Station lately is all about girlgroups and boybands.

Surreal17 15th July 2016 03:37 PM

Wait..Are you guys referring to both You were and evolution or only evolution? evolution was bad but You were.. was like she always sings the song, though a bit forced.

AyuGAME 15th July 2016 05:53 PM

I think it was mainly evolution that people were worried about.

ah dropping down...

I don't get why we even bother looking at Oricon rankings anymore when they refuse to count digital sales, which is what most people are buying. Even that guy who snuck into the Fukushima red zone and saw an entire CD shop completely untouched and stocked was like "Who buys CDs anymore?"

The groups that chart on Oricon are often Groups that put out 6 or 7 versions of the same single or album, and crazy fans will buy one of each version, and those sales all count together. If groups like AKB47 didn't do this, they'd fizz out... and Ayu clearly doesn't need to do this, or she would have fizzed out by now.

Ayu's doing just fine, and she doesn't need Oricon to justify that.

js_surrealism 19th July 2016 06:15 AM

You were is just a terrible song in general, and she yells even on the studio version so it's not surprising that all the live versions of the song sound equally painful. I'd like RnRC as an album so much more if this song was just not on it.

So true...although I only attended her concert (A-nation actually), she does sound pretty awesome. She was in Singapore (for the a-nation) and I was like 10 metres away from her. I really thought she would sound bad, but I'm suprised that she didn't!! She's awesome!!

holy_arrow 20th July 2016 02:07 PM

I think because of the limitation of the recording/ filming technology, her vocal recorded sounds bad but actually, she is great at the venue when we listen to her directly

xLuna&1LOVE 20th July 2016 11:48 PM

Doing much better than expected!

AyuGAME 21st July 2016 03:11 AM

She will reach 40K..no question about that..

question is..can MIJ pass Sixxxxx sales?
