It's a huge number indeed but not for Kouhaku itself, that was the third lowest rate ever for the show.

Corvina 4th January 2018 05:46 PM

Kouhaku once had astonishing 70 - 80% between 1962 and 1985.

Well im pretty sure there was less tv channels than there are now.

And why would Namie help the ratings when she appeared for 5 minutes in a 4 hours show?? Lol.

thinkingoutloud89 4th January 2018 09:46 PM

^yeah exactly. east-Germany had only three channels around that time. Its decades ago, and therefore it is a huge number.

In relation to the tour goods, I really want to order some of the items but I’m having trouble with the website, I guess you have to create an account? I’m only able to guess based off of a google translation. Should I be using a tenso address? Any help is appreciated

haraiso 6th January 2018 11:59 AM

Yeah, you need to log into an account to actually buy everything. The store is linked to your ticket board account, I believe.

Everything regarding purchasing from the Cart page onwards can be viewed in English if you click on the Language button at the top of the page, by the way! For me, her sites always change automatically to English whenever it's possible but not sure if that happens for everyone else.

The store's guide specifically says it will not ship overseas, so you'll definitely need to use your Tenso address.

That stage is dope af. Simple yet stunning. Her outfit is amazing. Her voice is outstanding.

I am going to cry. It is her last countdown performance.

Namie Amuro's "Finally" Surpasses 2 Million In Sales

Quote:

Namie Amuro's all-time best-of album "Finally" has officially sold over 2 million copies.

Oricon released its sales figures for the first week (1/1 - 1/7) of the 2018. "Finally" sold 69,078 copies during this time, bringing its total sales to 2,002,559 copies.

The last album to sell 2 million copies in Japan was The Beatle's best-of album "1" on August 13, 2012. The album was originally released on November 13, 2000.

The last Japanese soloist to sell more than 2 million copies of an album was Ken Hirai with "Ken Hirai 10th Anniversary Complete Single Collection '95-'05 "Utabaka"" (released November 23, 2005; surpassed 2 million on April 17, 2006), while the last Japanese female soloist was Utada Hikaru with "Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 1" (released March 31, 2004; surpassed 2 million on April 26, 2004).

This is Amuro's 2nd album to sell more than 2 million copies. Her debut album "SWEET 19 BLUES" was released on July 22, 1996 and surpassed 2 million copies sold on August 12, 1996.

Amuro will be retiring from the music industry on September 16, 2018.

Next_Level29 9th January 2018 12:28 PM

Hikki's Single Collection Vol. 1

RealLight 9th January 2018 01:34 PM

^ And I did some research and Kobukuro's All Singles Best surpassed the 3kk mark (shook). But still, YAAAY for Namie :luv2

Edit: I just noticed, even KBKR sold that much, the album was released in 2006, so Namie owns this decade :V

thinkingoutloud89 9th January 2018 01:59 PM

- for a solist, itv was Ken Hirais Utabaka
- for a solo female it was Utada SC Vol.1
- for any Japanese Act (a "band" in this case) it was Kobokuro ALL SINGLES BEST

melissalove 9th January 2018 08:21 PM

Very happy for her. It doesnt matter whether she out sales utada or not. Namie has broken records in times were good sales are rare for a soloist. She’s a legend.
