^Yea, that transition didn't look like it could be done during a live show.

It was definitely pre-recorded. I thought it was live up until SIGNAL. The transition made it pretty obvious.

I was suspicious... so there's maybe a chance her vocals were retouched

pedronekoi 2nd October 2020 10:56 PM

She looks STUNNING!! And sounds just like an angel. <3

Despite 2020 being a SHIT YEAR, we - as TeamAyu - can say that this was an amazing year to be her fan! We had 4 amazing concerts, 2 great singles, 1 well produced PV, the GREATEST vocals in years, BEAUTY and FACE. I mean... I'm forever a stan!!!!

PS: For a minute I thought "Bye-bye darling" was a new song. Completely erased this song from my mind lol

I hope she has learned that resting can improve her performance by 200%. In the future, I really hope instead of straining long af hall tours she chooses to do less concerts on bigger venues with resting in between.

People keep saying this, but her schedule isn't even comparable with other artists like Sergey Lazarev who has concerts like every day and manages to keep his voice because of the proper vocal technique, Ayu has enough days off between her shows and doesn't even perform the whole show live, but any show can damage her voice when she strains it by screaming and so on.

^She's been on tour since 2000 and her promo schedule between 1999-2010 was insane lol of course it has damaged her voice and the lack of technique doesn't help her either. But resting your voice helps to prevent more damages, that's why singers like Mariah Carey took years to start touring even with her perfect technique in the 90s.

thank you for this clip!

I'm actually surprised that the show may have been pre-recorded; I thought it was live!

while that may open up the possibilities of her vocals being retouched, I don't think that is the case, judging from the clip above. her vocal is great, as many have testified here, but does not seem to be edited/retouched. to my untrained, amateur ears, at least.

Wow, JEWEL was better than I ever expected. Easily the best I’ve heard.

EndOfTheWorld 3rd October 2020 06:22 AM

I haven't watched the whole show yet but I did watch the preview clip she put up on Youtube. I can not believe that performance of JEWEL. It was incredible. Her vocals sound so relaxed and the tone sounds healthier than quite a while.
I don't really get excited for her lives anymore but this one seems promising.:yes

This was FANTASTIC! I have a few more songs left to see, but wow. Her voice was great. All these shows for the last year have been pretty good in that area - having kids has done her vocals good. :) The rest doesn't hurt either I'm sure, but her being pregnant is I'm sure playing a large part.

A quote from Pat Benatar from her autobiography who recorded some of her albums while pregnant: " Pregnancy makes all the long muscles in your body relax, and your vocal cords are a long muscle. Suddenly I found that I could do things vocally that I’d never been able to do before. And once I did, I was able to re-create that sound even without the pregnancy hormones. I’ve never had an easier time singing than when I was pregnant."

Her vocals have been sounding like this since last years FNS performance, which is when she was pregnant with her first baby. So no, I don't think this performance was all that retouched. She even misses a line in Powder Snow. Since there was no audience, they could have easily added it back in if they were doing extensive retouching.

I've also noticed in the last few shows that the level of the dancers and the choreography is significantly better than before.

And this setlist? Crazy!

Just a great show.

Well, to be fair, she sang the wrong lyrics in a couple of parts of Missing in this year's cdl and they didn't bother fixing them for the DVD.

The concert was great. I really liked how she sounded in JEWEL.

Right because that one you can’t hide given it was in front of an audience. My point was here there was no live audience, so if this was pre-taped, they could have done whatever they wanted with any mistake and no one would have known. So the fact that they left in her missing singing a line, says to me it wasn’t that doctored.

The concert was definitely pre-recorded but I don't necessarily think they did anything crazy to her vocals. You can hear she's singing in a different way and is exercising more control rather than just shouting the loud bits and screeching the high notes. She also fixes her ear piece a lot more often I've noticed in the last few lives. Maybe they've gotten a new one that can help her hear herself more through her hearing issues. That would definitely help her pitching.

Mikytaryan 3rd October 2020 01:34 PM

I wonder why they preferred to pre-record it. They broadcasted concerts live when she was tired, vocals not that great and of course live audience but in a more controlled setup they prefer to pre-record everything.

I don't mind, cause you still get the live feeling since I agree that her voice doesn't seem to be tempered with, it's just interesting how times are changing and the online era will start to dominate with perfectly arranged concerts and visuals.
I also thought that the editing during SIGNAL is actually possible during a live broadcast, but maybe it wasn't the case here.

Anyway, it was really an amazing show full of emotions :) Glad I bought the ticket.

Evan Odinson 3rd October 2020 02:38 PM

Don't mind me I'm just crying over the fact she finally sang It Was (on a broadcast I mean) one of my favorite songs and she did great!!! Loving this concert :luv2

kotora 3rd October 2020 03:49 PM

Her voice is good in this tour and the previous tour without massive audience.

Would she get excited when she sees lots of audience interaction and affect her voice in the tour?
