So Nyeo Shi Dae means Girls' Generation. So instead of writing down So Nyeo Shi Dae everytime, people shorten it to SNSD. Girls' Generation is their official english name. So Nyeo Shi Dae, their Korean name.

DBSK is short for Dong Bang Shin Ki. DBSG is short for Dong Bang Shin Gi. Depending on how you romanize that last part, changes the acronym. Another one is TVXQ or Tong Vfang Xien Qi. This is another way of romanizing it. Tohoshinki is their Japanese name.

In DBSK's case, they have a Korean name. It was romanized by fans and SM hence the different names. I don't think anyone calls them "The Rising Gods of the East" all the time. That's just too long.
