#6, great! It's tough competition. A NANA album. ORANGE RANGE. KinKi Kids. A BLEACH best-of. Next week, Koda Kumi's "Black Cherry". I hope she's consistant this week. No more 72% drop!

Is Bleach Best-of such a big album ?
I wonder what Japanese thinks about 1LOVE PV, I don't think they will like :(

I think it's good considering the song that she chose to jump the album off. I really feel that Momentum would've set the selling-standard way off BETTER than JEWEL.
It's also good considering that this wasn't a PLANNED album; it just happened and these are good numbers for a *spontaneous* album like Secret. Unlike past Ayu albums (miss)understood & Secret both have lacked that *OMG Ayu's new album is out now* promotion. MY STORY had those awesome commercials, amazing endorsements and repeat-ready singles to boot. I will admit that I liked all the songs from the (m)u-Secret era BUT that Ayumi-hype that we're used to just didn't happen here.

Perhaps it's the intimidation of other *newly* recognized stars like Koda...or maybe avex is slipping in their finances. Actually to be honest; it seems like NO LABEL *major ones* are really doing much to me. I guess their just playing it safe I guess...then again I wouldn't know since I don't actually LIVE in Japan. But here in America there really hasn't been much promoting aside from beyonce and Justin Timberlake. *rollz eyes*

Personally I am really satisfied with Secret album.

Sales number won't change my mind. :tipsy

If people think that major stores aren't playing the jewel video outside their windows, or that there were a million things hanging around tokyo to advertise the new album, they're silly. everybody always says she has no promotion, but next to none of us are actually in japan. when i was there during the my story era, there were tons more advertising materials than we EVER see on the message boards here. it was everywhere. i'm sure the last two albums have been the same way. they're usually just pics of the album cover with a release date...so most likely people wouldn't post those pics on forums.

Seriously, using Momentum or 1 LOVE to promote the album instead of JEWEL won't change the sales very much. JEWEL is easily acceptable by the masses, so it's the perfect choice.

um...Orange Range and Nami Tamaki are being promoted the heck out there in Japan and so is Hitoto Yo's album and Kumi Koda there are few Ayu posters up anymore and Kuu is all over the radio and TV she is like a promotion monster right now!!!

Oh, today, Hitoto Yo beats Ayu! =O

Well that's understandable since BC is coming out in a few days :)

:eek Hitoto Yo overtook Ayu, unfortunately. Ayu was #6 and Hitoto #7 but yesterday Ayu was #6 and Hitoto #5. Damn... I think Hitoto's 4th week will beat Ayu's. :dead2

Oh well, at least BESTYO is a good album too.

I do wonder what happened to the 300,000 or so copies of Ayu albums that used to be sold in 2003-2004.. :o
