Just listened to Lady Gaga's song Just Dance and Poker Face. She can sing really well. I like the music videos too. Very talented. Hope she does great in the US.

I just read this from some interview with Xtina:

I don't know why, but I find it a bit rude. It's kind of obvious that Lady GaGa is a woman, and how she refers to her as "this person." Like she's a nobody or something. XD

Haha I think we discussed this a few pages back. I think Xtina just got a little defensive, but didn't mean to come off like that.

I honestly don't understand why she'd try to attack Gaga. I mean, how is Xtina gonna front like she doesn't know who she is when her entire look for this album is based around ripping her off?

anyway I finally got around to hearing the album and it isn't that bad. I'm like, obsessed with Poker Face ATM. She should really focus her promo on Europe/Australia/Canada and just forget about the U.S. for now. If Just Dance and Poker Face weren't able to make much impact over there I don't think another song from her album can.

Yeah, the US isn't really receptive to this style of music I guess. I think she would do quite well in the UK though.

I think UK would be perfect for it too, allthough I Hear it quite a lot in Paris too. It's one of those songs that were made for europe I guess. Maybe it's a little too far out/glitzy for the US? I*d love to have this music be made popular in the US again though.. DIsco is not dead. :eviltongu:lech


Yeah it's a bit rude, but today you never know. Lady Gaga might be a group, a single lady or even a man. Her newest look is dfinetly a little too similar to gaga's though. =/

Indeedy! She should focus on overseas promotion since she'll probably have a bigger impact there...even though I'm from the US and I love her :P

IN all fairness "Just dance" isen't THAT different from Rihanna's Disturbia, but Lady Gaga's image is like the embodiment of the image of eurotrash and the the rest of her music takes a very different approach in general even if the two songs are close in how they sound. So even if I guess the sound for that song could be right for teh US the whole package isent'.


I just love the lyrics though, they're really what clubbing is all about LOL. In her site she says she wants to bring back the carelessness of dance music in the 90s (eurodance) and to me that's a BIG +!

I don't think GaGa should give up on the US at all. in fact, "Just Dance" is currently no. 16 on the Hot 100, and she's at no. 9 on iTunes and still climbing.

edit~ I've just been told "Just Dance" is at no. 4 now!

I think Lady Gaga will start to become popular soon. It's gonna be a slow build, but I feel like it's going to really pay off soon! Too bad "Just Dance" is still getting attention when "Poker Face" will probably be all forgotten about :weep
