Hikaru Utada - First Love

Fitting, right? :3

It's actually quite strange in a way. I'm going back through this thread and a lot of the songs mentioned were some of my first Jpop songs as well. Dearest, Trauma, Colors, Fukai Mori, evolution...

Unfortunately I'm not a part of the Hikari club, because while I did know Simple and Clean then, I didn't hear the Japanese version till much later.

Probably 残酷な天使のテーゼ (Cruel Angel's Thesis) by Takahashi Yoko. I haven't stopped loving it since ♥

"Yume miru dake ja dame" by Tsukino Usagi aka sailor moon XD it was on a sailor moon soundtrack from when i was like 10, you know where the singers were "sailor mars" and what not haha I used to listen to that song on repeat for hours and sing it too, it was my little 10 year old mission to learn that song (i never did)

i still could listen to that song for hours. its addicting

Dearest by Ayumi Hamasaki ;) And I hated it! But I decided to listen to her other albums, and I instantaneously fell in love :D

Moonlight Densetsu, Sailor Moon opening. Sweet memories :heart About first acknowleged j-pop songs though... A bunch of Ayu's MY STORY tracks: Catcher In The Light - GAME - INSPIRE - Replace (maybe there was something else, those were the most memorable for me though), downloaded at the same time.

My, I think it was Fly High by Ayumi Hamasaki. I swore never to listen to asian music again haha...now look at me. -_-

Midori-chan 12th December 2010 05:03 PM

Wow, I don't remember anymore...oh wait, I think it was a song from the anime "Attack No. 1". Not the opening, but some song they played as background music in one of the episodes.

I was 12 back then and still remember how the song goes...! :D

Mirrorcle Monster 12th December 2010 06:35 PM

I supose it was Suteki da Ne

tbarnes10 14th December 2010 02:48 AM

I don't remember when this was but my first song was Dearest from Inuyasha. I only ever watched one episode and I didn't really pay attention to the song. I think it was about 3 years later when I heard my next japanese song and about 3 1/2 before I realized what that song was.
