Ayu's not stupid, she knows that music piracy exists. She probably knows that each and every person who wrote a letter in that book probably discovered her through the internet. Through an illegal download.

But I doubt what she thought of when she recieved the book is that she has an international fanbase of music pirates. So I don't think she'll go looking up AHS anytime soon. Although, she has probably googled herself plenty of times. it's not like she just discovered the internet when the book was given to her. If she wanted to close down forums sharing illegal downloads, she could have done it anytime.

slavomiros 31st January 2010 09:52 AM

the other thing is...
this is not just entirely for tons of pirated stuff to share...many people on AHS own lots of her works so she gets quite a load of profit from this anyway. However, for some Ayu fans, obtaining original releases is very demanding and complicated...and $$
The FanBook compensates these piracy thoughts in her head for sure...big time ;-)

^some people were even "bold" enough to say "i don't buy your official CDs"... -_-

njanjayrp 31st January 2010 10:16 AM

Ah I am quite sure her staff won't even be allowed to read the letters and Ayu herself has better things to do than run around the internet and stalk illegally uploaded stuff ^^ There are people at AVEX who are in charge of that and considering the number of youtube videos they deleted in the past couple of years I'm pretty sure they are aware of the situation, but they simply don't care as they aren't really loosing a lot of money considering that the albums only get released in Japan and a few Asian countries, I mean Ayu China would be gone for good if they actually thought they could sell loads in China ^^

in that case...we know whom to credit for the eventual AHS ban ;-)

very true indeed. From her TA blog entry, i got the impression that the book is very personal to her and she doesn't want other people (like the Avex staff) get involved in it's background too much.

You have a strong point. There's no market for them outside of Asia so why would they bother?

tetsuo69 31st January 2010 11:06 AM

That just goes to show what type of person ayu is ^^
Really happy with what she wrote, even if i didnt take part. i'm happy for everyone that got to tell her something in this book :)

Cherry Dynamite 31st January 2010 11:10 AM

I'm not worried about that stuff honestly I think it's dumb to get worried over that thing because if Avex was serious, They should have found this forum a long time ago and all those illegal downloading sites.

Yumsushi 31st January 2010 11:28 PM

Thanks for the translation, Misa.
This is unreal, I cant imagine if I was one of those lucky persevering individuals who were there at that moment, now immortalized forever in this entry. Ayu is such a genuine person. The book and the gesture truly touched her beyond my imagination and in return she has touched us with this heartwarming entry and the fact that she even said

Quote:

And there must have been some who had to leave because of time constraints, and they might have been crying on their way back...
Thinking of these things, I started crying again.
Wow. This is why her music touches people regardless of language or origin. She actually CARES.
I didn't take part but thanks all those who participated for carrying our feelings to her.

Diana 31st January 2010 11:40 PM

omggg.... *sheds a tear*
This is so... emotional!! I never thought she would write this much! Mentioning how we put in an effort, and for the people that gave her the book. Stan also.. And so sweeeet.. she put it in a lobby where she passes every time! I'm so glad that she read few of them.. :D Don't care if she read mine, but I'm really really glad we made this and gave it to her. And so glad that I wrote her. She seemed so happy...I think we motivated her!! I'm so glad.. :( Saying all these things... Thank you Ayu! ♡ And everyone that made the letters! ♡ ... Ok, and Stan-chan! ♡ xD
Thank you Misa-chan for translating such a beautiful post~~

♡WE ARE ONE
