That doesn't even make sense. It is not the anniversary of her 50th single. It's just the release of her 50th single.

Anniversary: An anniversary (from the Latin anniversarius, from the words for year and to turn, meaning (re)turning yearly; known in English since c. 1230) is a day that commemorates and/or celebrates a past event that occurred on the same day of the year as the initial event.

It seems Ayu's just been coasting by on this term for quite some time already.

~50th Single Extravaganza~ would have been much better!

it'd be cooler if it was called 50th single-palooza. all i can say is that it better be better than a museum which celebrated her 30th single fsr. i really dislike that concert.

What do you mean? I haven't seen her use it since her actual anniversary. And also, based on the definition you just gave, she could be referring to her birthday (which explains the first date). In some languages "happy birthday" is translated "happy anniversary."

AyumiAi 1st July 2010 11:42 PM

Im looking into going to this!
It would be my first time in Japan and honestly it would mean my life would be complete
i'd go with my mom XP and i'd have to miss 3 days of school, and i'd have to sell my manga collection T_T but i'd be worth it! <3

Max_ZZZ 1st July 2010 11:55 PM

well, maybe the word anniversary gives off the same type of hype?

Jorge, blame Ayu, she is older enough and has enough control over her life and career to decide if it's good to do 7 shows in 10 days or not. I think it's not really fair to talk as if people going are not thinking about her health or sth, don't you think?? =) She did worst things in the past...

argh.. reading all of your comments makes me wanna go to these 7 days concert too :dead2

i don't know if i can manage to save some money until then..
May ( I've been to Ayu R'nRC Tour and kuu's UNIVERSE Tour)
and in 2 days i'll be watching kuu's Dream Music Park
and in October, ayu's 50th anniv single???
It seems like i have to find 2nd part-time job here.. :scry

perfectodub 2nd July 2010 05:38 AM

I don't blame Ayu (...) you know how much i respect her but she never has done anything like 7 concerts in only 10 days, if it's her own decision to make it on this way then it's ok, i respect her... i know she loves to perform live, to give concerts to her fans but that's too much for only one person, it's only my opinion because i just wish all the best for her, no more... i really hope everything will go ok and these concerts will be a big sucess!

njanjayrp 2nd July 2010 08:22 AM

I wonder why they simply didn't have 2 days at Tokyo Dome...I don't really think AVEX decides much when it comes to her concerts, it might be that Ayu simply wanted to give everyone from TA the chance to come, but wanted the people who aren't from TA to have a chance to see it as well.

kagami 2nd July 2010 08:25 AM

I don't think Ayu likes performing in Domes much.
Didn't she say she would never do it again?

Can't really blame her though, she doesn't have the best experiences in them.

Misa-chan 2nd July 2010 08:38 AM

Domes may be more impressive, but I'm sure the tickets will cost more too. I think more people will prefer a concert that costs only 8,500yen in a smaller venue than the same one which costs, what, 5,000yen more expensive in a big grand venue? Besides, the arena is definitely more intimate than the dome, even can see her quite well even when you sit at the back.

True! It's not like she's never performed in a dome before. And isn't Kumi performing at the dome this year, too? It's her actual anniversary after all, let her have it.

It's not as if she needs it for the whole year.

I guess what Misa said is the truth, yet it would be easier for Ayu to perform twice instead of 7 times in a row...
