I just saw this thead and was going to ask the same thing!! Any new news??? I thought I read somewhere that she is manly a DJ now?

Delicious n Bold 8th September 2012 04:32 AM

I hope she's alive and well.
I don't think I could live without Ami-go's floptastic music. It's just awesome.

Maybe if we keep bumping this thread, something will happen.
Lol Ami will visit this site and be like 'mai myuzikku izu nauto furopputashutikku (my music is not floptastic) and then proceed to create the best electronic song, dragging perfume by their weaves.

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 04:41 AM

^ lol... I did like her last album a lot...
Just too bad I discovered her after she stopped making music it seems

Delicious n Bold 8th September 2012 04:50 AM

Me too
I discovered her about 4 months ago.

Do you have a favourite song? I love FREE FREE and Ten. As for her Pre-Avex days, I love white key.

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 05:13 AM

ten was amazing.
Thats the only album that I have.. so I havent listen to her other stuff yet...
whats another good album??

Delicious n Bold 8th September 2012 05:16 AM

Dolce
Tracks 1, 4-11 (plus the bonus, 12) are good.
So are AROUND THE WORLD and only 1 song on CONETTA (fantastic).

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 05:37 AM

ill have to check them out!
thanks!

Minttulatte 8th September 2012 05:11 PM

Her TK music is also awesome. Especially songs on Infinity Eighteen Vol.1 and 2. I also love her debut album SA quite a lot (it has all night long on it! :heart), but my overall favorite album is DOLCE, of course.

I haven't been listening to Ami so much after I had that crazy fandom of her songs in 2009. It's so sad because she used to be my #3 favorite singer. Then I overplayed her songs and now there's nothing new coming out. It's 4 years since Supreme Show. :(

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 05:15 PM

really? I was listening to Infinity Eighteen Vol.1 last night and wasnt that impressed with it... I like her dancer side really... plus it was the late 90's...
not to much in to JPN late 90's.

setsuka 8th September 2012 06:09 PM

her best album to me was Around the World, Delightful and I'm Alone <3

MeltingCORE 8th September 2012 06:55 PM

I adore AROUND THE WORLD so much... It would be awesome if she did more music in that Trance-like style.

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 07:14 PM

I'll really have to look those up!
Maybe the next time jpopsuki has free leech :lech

adantatu2 9th September 2012 02:14 AM

^Lucky, they have Freeleech right now !!!
Hurry up, XD

TeamAyu2004 9th September 2012 02:28 AM

Yeah, just like ASfXX, Ami's old stuff is... an acquired taste.
Her post-Avex stuff (3 albums plus Fantastic from CONETTA) are the best.
One REALLY needs some musical taste to like her old stuff. I don't know why Japan went Ape**** over her a long time ago. But I still recommend 'white key'. Not too bad at all.

TeamAyu2004 9th September 2012 06:40 PM

^ it was the style of the late 90's and early 2000's... just like you said; ayumi's first album sounds like it...
it's just not my cup tea.

Suzuki Ami remains silent about rumored relationship with Takaoka Sousuke
by ustar on September 9, 2012 at 11:43 am

On September 8th, singer Suzuki Ami appeared at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya for a public rehearsal for the musical, ‘Hashire Melos‘.

Earlier in June, weekly tabloid magazine ‘FRIDAY‘ reported Suzuki’s relationship with actor Takaoka Sousuke. After taking a few photos, reporters asked Suzuki, “Is the relationship going well?“, along with many other questions regarding the relationship. The singer remained silent and responded with a smile.

Kawamura Ryuichi, who plays the lead role in the musical, followed up on the questions saying, “She’s a pure girl.“ ’Hashire Melos’ will run in Tokyo until September 11th.

Well, I'm a 90s kid (I was born in 1988) so I like the music from that time. :D And also, I'm a fan of Tetsuya Komuro's music. But in Ami's case I think the popularity she had came mostly from the singing competition that she won in late 1997 or early 1998, I'm not quite sure, but she was popular the moment her first single was released (love the island).

Sometimes I really wonder what kind of artist she might be today if that blacklisting issue didn't happen in 2000. :(

It'd be nice if she signed an indie label like hitomi. :(

I want this too or she could go independent again, like when she released "Tsuyoi Kizuna" & "FOREVER LOVE" singles in 2004. :yes

Why makes you think she doesn't want to make new music? I think the problem is that Avex just don't want to spend money on Ami because her fanbase is so small and they rather preffer spending money on korean or idols groups. Now that Avex got contracts with AKB48, Johnnies and that kpop sub-label I think all the money is on them.

I'm confused why ppl think she doesn't want to release new music, the blame should be given to avex. :eh: I really wish they would just let her go, why keep her on the label when you're not letting her do anything. Yeah she released a BEST but only one new song "Future" and it was a bonus track released on iTunes. I think making cds & dvds in Japan is expensive to manufacture, so if avex doesn't want to spend too much money on Ami, they should release new music digitally like on iTunes. :idea

I feel like now since it's been 4 years since her last studio album & 2 years since last single, she has lost a lot of fans, I feel sad thinking about that. :( Wish avex will get their **** together soon. :gnash :wtf :bslap

Here's info I collected about last single that was cancelled, when avex gave up on her:
Ami was gonna release a new single produced by Yasutaka Nakata on January 27 2010. Yasutaka Nakata last worked with Ami on Supreme Show album. After KISS KISS KISS single flopped, avex cancelled the new single. I used google to translate the description about the new song, it was described as having a club sound that was polished, honed, whatever. I hope one day the song will get a release. :bsigh
