I thought Take the World On was being used for the Intel advertisement in Korea? I thought it was stated it wasn't expected to appear on their album.

^ Um, no, and it's INCREDIBLY rude of you to just assume I don't know about Japanese pronunciation or that I'm pretending I "know Japanese perfectly." Incredibly rude and presumptuous. Just to let you know, I'm a linguistics major, and as such I have learned a little about phonetics and phonology. >_> In other words, unless you've also majored in linguistics, I probably know a little bit more about the sounds of language than you do. Therefore I'm not saying their Japanese is weird because I'm used to the song in Korean. It's bad because their Japanese is bad. They sing with thick Korean accents, much thicker than any other jpop-gone Korean group I can think of. And from the sounds of their Japanese, it's very, very obvious that they weren't trained in it. Your "Japanese friends" saying their Japanese is "perfect" is not really that big of a feat, considering I had many, many people tell me my Japanese pronunciation was perfect when I was younger and I know for a fact it was horrible back then. :laugh Not to mention the fact that people seem to always tend to say "so and so has great {whatever language!}" when that's not necessarily the case. The first example that comes to mind was with BoA's English album. Her accent was super thick and unintelligible in a lot of parts, but people still said her English was great in it anyways.

tl;dr Their Japanese is FAR from brilliant and I do know what Japanese is supposed to sound like.

Just curious if they confirmed they were doing remakes cause I assumed all their English music would be new. If they do English versions I'm all for it, but I would prefer all new music for the US.

BB from YG also, but at least their first albums sounded better, do not like new japanese versions of amazing new songs cause they're the same to 2NE1- they are just lazy/have no time to work even a bit at it and we can really hear it.

Yep, you can definitely hear it. It's not just their pronunciation, but the "made in 5 minutes" production of the songs, too. It's not their fault, and it happens to almost every kpop group's Japanese music. :laugh

Why would people say it's lazy of 2NE1 to make Japanese versions of all their songs? They've done nothing but work hard for the past 3 years. It can take up to 3 weeks just to record one song.

Also, there's no confirmation that they'll do English versions of their songs (like FIRE, Clap Your Hands, I am the best etc) but I'm just assuming they will, mainly because they remade them for their Japanese fans, why wouldn't they remake them for English speaking fans?

Take The World On was confirmed by DJPoet in an interview that it will be part of their English Debut album.

I'm also pretty sure that I remember reading somewhere that Papa YG 'rocks out' to their English version of 'Hate You' because it still contains the F word in place of the word 'Hate'. Here's my prediction of their US album's track-list:

I'm not into their Japanese stuff at all. I was introduced to them by their Korean music (with "I AM THE BEST"), so hearing all their original songs re-sung in Japanese doesn't do anything for me at all. :no

I want new Koream songs, it seems like forever since the 2nd mini album.

I've read that the english version of Can't Nobody was played on a popular radio station in Chicago. That's already pretty good.
Though I actually doubt that they'll make other english remakes of their korean songs.
As far as I know they recorded enough already to make a full english debut album.
I don't know, but I also do have the feeling will.i.am would never let them do remakes. XD

As for their Japanese...I'm certainly no expert, but I've been listening to pretty much nothing but jpop for the last 12 years, and they sound like any other act I've listened to...

Isn't their American Debut supposed to be this year? I do hope they do their old songs in English as well as the new songs we have heard snippets of already, I can't wait for it. :D

Probably gonna be the latter, but I think that's gonna suck. When you take a song in korean/japanese and then try to sing it in english, it sounds so weird and forced. very difficult to write lyrics that flow well, sound right, AND fit the song. hm.
