It's been revealed that Ayaka will release a new album, titled "Rainbow Road", on April 15.

Ayaka wrapped up 2014 by announcing her pregnancy and performing on 'The 65th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen'. The upcoming album will be available for purchase in 4 different types: 3CD+DVD Edition, 3CD Edition, CD Edition, and Room Ayaka Edition. In addition to her already released songs, such as "Tsuyoku Omou", "beautiful", "Arigatou no Wa", "number one", and "Nijiiro", the album will include a handful of brand new songs.

The 3CD Editions will also contain live audio tracks from her nationwide tour, 'Nijiiro Acoustic Live Tour 2014 ~3-STAR RAW~', which wrapped up on December 26. As for the DVD, it will include PVs for her songs, including "Nijiiro".

Furthermore, Ayaka will release a live DVD / Blu-ray featuring footage from the finale of 'Nijiiro Acoustic Live Tour 2014 ~3-STAR RAW~' at Nippon Budokan.

Three years...really? That long??? Whoa, time goes really fast... 2012... (that was the time when it was still Sayuri Sugawara before she renamed to "THE SxPLAY" last year, but this is Ayaka - three years sure really went fast...)

Ayaka better postpone the album, give birth, forget EVERY SONG after they beginning, record an entirely new album and come back and slay the lessers. Waiting for her post natal awakening.
How does one degrade from 'sora yo onegai' to 'nijiiro' anyway. Giving me hitomi vibes.

Oh, postpone the album? I could agree, since I'm a bit of a budget crunch, trying to deal with paying off my new gaming graphics card...

Yeah, I just heard. I'm surprised she's doing this. Hopefully sometime this summer I'm going to buy it (along with a Sayuri Sugawara song from an album consisting of different artists, as well as catch up on digital-only Yanawaraba releases).

Ayaka to be the first Japanese artist to release iTunes Session

Quote:

http://i58.tinypic.com/2ymspzm.jpg

Ayaka will release an 'iTunes Session' to 110 countries on March 16.

'iTunes Session' are EPs that are released exclusively through the iTunes Store. Top artists, such as Maroon 5, OneRepublic, and The Black Keys, have released music through 'iTunes Session'. This is the first time for an 'iTunes Session' to be produced in Japan, and Ayaka was selected as the first Japanese artist to participate.

For the recording, Ayaka will be joined by Shionoya Satoru (Key) and Furukawa Masayoshi (G), who went on tour with her last year. The 'iTunes Session' will include "Tsuyoku Omou", "Akai Sora", "THIS IS THE TIME", and "Nijiiro" along with "Through the ages", a song that Ayaka provided for British singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin, and an English self cover of her ballad "Hajimari no Toki".

Advance orders have already started on March 2. If ordering in advance, you will be able to download "Hajimari no Toki (English ver.) [iTunes Session]" before its release.

I download the Hajimari No Toki...looks like she sings live...her vocal sounds raw and the mixing sounds a little raw as well. Looks like it's live recording...

It's not mentioned in the article but iTunes Sessions are made of live performances, not of studio versions!

AyuGAME 4th March 2015 01:27 AM

^I see..thank you for the explanation..

Bigtop 4th March 2015 02:08 AM

I pre-ordered it. Looking forward to the entire iTunes Session to come out in two weeks. And, at only $7 through the US iTunes store, that's a steal! Japan's charging the same thing for 1,100 yen, or slightly above $9 (based on 120 yen to the dollar conversion), which means they're paying more than us. Why do Japan charge higher prices on iTunes in general?
