Okay, good. I'm not the only person who thought that didn't make a bit of sense. I do eat meat, excluding pork, but I didn't think the dress stood for anything other than her creating controversy. I love Lady Gaga, but the dress was just unnecessary.

That's what I feel. She seriously didn't need something like that... She's just gonna get more haters for using real meat lol

My set is very meatish. Funny, I made it today because I wanted to contrast ayumi with something I think is gross, but it was before I read about Gaga. Now the timing couldn't have been better, lol.

One more thing regarding the dress...I wouldn't mind it so much if I could view it as art or believe she had a point to make, but as others have already said, I think she only did this to stir up controversy.

EDIT: i didn't want to double post, but i had to share this!

The pop star has reportedly nearly completed on-line coursework to become a minister, so she can officiate marriage ceremonies for her gay fans!

A source says:

"She has completed virtually all of the coursework. She sees this as a way of repaying the love her fans have shown her. This isn't a gimmick. She has a very strong belief system and has embraced God since she was a little girl."

i just wonder how much it costs to hire lady gaga to perform your marriage?!?!

jbrat2219 14th September 2010 10:25 PM

Gay people are not Gaga's only fans.

GRACE 14th September 2010 10:38 PM

LOL like they'd let someone like Lady GaGa be a minister.

even though I am gay, I agree with jbrat. She has straight fans too, and it's obnoxious how she panders to her gay fanbase and ignores the rest of her fans.

futureLOVE 15th September 2010 03:31 PM

the reason Gaga is so in tune with her gay fans is because most of them, save for some, have always believed in her.

Gay men don't judge her, no matter what she wears, no matter what she sings. She's an advocate for equality.

She knows she doesn't just have gay fans, but they are her largest fanbase and she feels the greatest connection to them.

At least she has a connection with her fans as opposed to people like Britney Spears and Beyonce, both great artists but neither have an intimate relationship with their fans like Gaga. Personally, I find it very admirable the way Gaga talks and treats her fans.

ohsixthirty 15th September 2010 04:42 PM

^i agree with everything futureLOVE says! :yes

i admire Gaga for acknowledging her gay fans. straight people are acknowledged by every one else in the entire world, so its nice to see someone on our side once in a while.

jbrat2219 15th September 2010 06:41 PM

I admire her for her dedication to her gay fans, too. Her passion is one of the things I like about her. But how annoyed would you be if Ayu ran around saying, "THIS IS ALL FOR MY JAPANESE FANS!" Or how ANGRY do you think the Japanese fans would be if she only acknowledged foreign fans most of the time. Yeah it's great that she supports them but there's plenty of other artists who probably do but don't give them constant special treatment. I'd like it more if she said, "I want to become a minister so I can marry my fans on stage, no matter their orientation." I kind of feel out-casted by her most of the time. :no

koumori 15th September 2010 06:53 PM

LOL I'm bi, so I really have no standing.

I do think it's sliiiightly unfair though. Okay great yay, she supports gay rights, but it doesn't mean her straight fans aren't also as passionate about her music.

i do understand what you're saying. although, i wonder if her typical straight fan would even take note of this issue?

by the way, did anyone else see Ellen give her the veggie bikini? lmao, it was awesome.

The thing about it is, Lady GaGa is a gay icon and she's constantly standing up for gay rights. While she has a lot of gay fans and a lot of gay-supporting fans, she's does have straight fans too, but does she have to fight for their rights?

I can see how people would feel like she's excluding them, but really, she says she loves ALL her fans, that includes gays and straights. She doesn't constantly just mention her gay fans, she mentions all her little monsters when she wins things.

She has no need to say "THIS IS FOR GOD AND FOR THE STRAIGHTS" because, well, straight people don't need to fight for the same rights as gay people lol.

She's making a statement, not trying to alienate her fans. I wish people didn't see it that way because she's doing more good than harm you know?

jbrat2219 16th September 2010 12:17 AM

Yeah~ I understand. I'm glad she's fighting for their rights! But I wanna get married on stage by Gaga, too! xD; I'll ask Ayu to marry me and then maybe I'll get the chance ;D LOL j/k

lol, her being a minister. Oh well, good for people in those 5-6 states where it's legal. I wouldn't want her to do it, who knows what she'd wear. xD

thats the fun of it! ;)

emi♡ 16th September 2010 03:18 AM

lol @ all the animal rights crap being spewed out by everyone.

Who cares. Sorry. If the meat wasnt on her, it was going to be on someone's plate.

Besides, I know people have this whole thing about her stirring up controversy...but why don't you give her the benefit of the doubt...and say, maybe she did it as Art.

You know, when Georgia O Keefe painted large flowers all over the place, she was trying to get you to look at things a certain way. Then people came in and started saying she was going on painting about genitalia....

To me, I see it as more of a statement...it's just sad that in our world, it still has to be made.

About the gay rights thing...I'm sure Gaga wouldn't mind marrying a straight couple...but uh...that's not what the gesture is about lol

I don't believe she ever said this unless you're Lady GaGa herself. In that case, hey GaGa!

brb giving you the side eye and filing my nails boredly.
