im so glad that most of the reviews are positive .. i hope ppl in japan also like it =)

Her vocals on these tracks really stand out, there's something really different about it.
'glitter' is irresistibly fun. It's got that great summer feeling, and it's so, so catchy - Even though it sounds like it came straight out of an anime. :laugh 'fated' is amazing too. I love the arrangement and the vocals. It is very summery, very chill, emotional. These songs are such a breath of fresh air to me. I would say she took a risk with this single, because the songs are structurally, not as polished as the songs on 'Secret'. I noticed many times in both songs the words are cut short (nak-u becomes nak, etc.) Maybe they were CREA compositions. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Tetsuya Yukumi was not responsible for these. |
i think glitter has a lot of LOVEppears-esque sounds :)
|
For some reason, glitter gives me a Born To Be... kind of feel.
|
^If it would sound like Born To Be... I wouldn't like it as much.
Born To Be... is a nice song but glitter is something wow. |
I love both songs, when I heard glitter it gave me the same happy feeling as when I listened Mahaloha
and when I heard fated, I almost started to cry, the song sounds so emotional, love her voice in fated hope both PV will be awsome for the songs |

And it is not cheesy!! Haha.. okay, even though it is, I won't tell anybody because it's totally true. Ayu's heart is like a never-ending supply of beautiful lyrics. :p PS: I love that you live in Japan and told us about her airplay!! I've ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, wondered how much airplay she gets. I assumed lots and lots, and I guess I was right, but you never know. :p |
^ayu's heart and mind together always brings brilliant and beautiful lyrics! No doubt in that ^_^.
|
glitter - glitter sounds pretty good :D I like the "Wo wo wo" bit :D And I think it's a the first time in a while that I've heard ayu use English in a new song (the last I remember being Beautiful Fighters)
fated - I actually really love fated :yes I didn't expect too from the preview but it sounds so good when I hear the whole thing. It reminds me of a cross between HANABI and Memorial adress :D |
fated doesn't impress me in the least bit. Sounds too much like Secret which I didn't think was a great song either.
BUT glitter IS AMAZING! I just went on a walk listening to Ayu SUMMER SONGS and glitter is just so good! It makes me want to run during the chorus (which I did)! |
Glitter: I have never heard such an amazing summer song....it makes me actually feel happy...the vocals are very crisp and overall very enjoyable to listen to. the bridge is nothing short of amazing, it is rather lengthy and full of different sounds she's never used before. THis song makes you want to dance , jump in the ocean and lots of other fun things. I adore the parts where she uses english, it's so cute......the lyrics are very uplifting as well
Fated: at first when i heard the preview for this song, i wasn't expecting to be impressed. but...after hearing the full version , i really like the song now. the use of guitars is very different and i luv it. Her vocals in this song as well are very crisp and there's a lot of pitch variation. Great song but out of the two i luv glitter by far. This is a great start for the third chapter in her career, i am thouroughly impressed. THis single is amazing |
I very much enjoy listening to glitter....but fated is by far the better song on this single...
I'm rooting for this single to do real well, better than Blue Bird, but I'm expecting the Japanese audience to perfer glitter, which was a smart choice to put as the first song~ |
When I first clicked on glitter, I switched it off immediately. There is something about Ayumi's music lately that I don't really like for some reason.
glitter ; I really don't like the intro, but as I played the song, it sounds cute, cheerful and colourful~ The chorus isn't much, but the song is average. Maybe I will like it more as I listen to it. Reminds me a lot of BLUE BIRD fated ; I like this intro. Ballads from Ayumi are my favorites. This song starts off calm and into the chorus, it's more powerful. At the first hear, it's like the song touches me, like if I feel the emotion. The single is OK for me. Not something I'd jump up to go buy, though. I'm still satisfied with fated~ |
^fated is not a b-side it's a-side
glitter/fated is a double a-side both songs are a-side. ^_^ |

^That's fine xD, I'm glad I could be of assistant!
Rest assured, because you don't like glitter you still have fated, it's not a secondary song, it's as main as glitter ^_^. |
Hmm, both songs are a bit bland. Good, but I'd never become an ayumi hamasaki fan if i never knew her and listened to both songs at first time (different from songs like SURREAL, etc).
glitter - after listening to the song after 2-3 times, I actually love it. Like fairyland, the song has awesome verses but fails a bit on the generic/unrelated chorus. Her vocals are drowned on a sea of loudness and the beat is sorta extremely generic for JPOP these days. It's kinda like a mix of Greatful days (the mood of the song, and now that Halla mentions BOUNCEBACK it does make sense) and Beautiful Fighters (digitalized vocals, which are coooll "wow wow wow yeah yeah yeah"). The bridge is cool! fated - I love this song too, it sounds really cool but it's quite a generic song, and the instruments completely drown her vocals. There's even a part her vocals go quite low and it sounds cool but you can hardly hear it because of the loud instruments. I hope the actual CD tracks will have her vocals a little bit louder. At first listen, i wasn't really too impressed. But the songs quickly grew on me which is great! |
both are pretty decent songs. i think fated is a bit better than glitter, though. maybe cuz it's a rock ballad and glitter is a summer-ish pop song.
