It's worldwide, that's why all the physical numbers are higher.

How can the numbers jump so much if they weren't even officially released on overseas? Don't tell me about the online sales, since the jump was way huge to be believable. :(

In addition to overseas sales, those numbers include domestic sales that are not always counted at Oricon. I don't see why you need to be so skeptical, I don't think EMI would just make stuff up. They seem like a reliable source. And it was actually a news story by Yahoo! Japan, and I don't think they would just publish fake numbers.

cloud♥honey 6th July 2008 01:01 AM

These numbers are likely the "official numbers by Avex" that are only the number of copies shipped. And about a believable source, isn't Avex a reliable source? But meh, only made-up numbers.

Again, why would Yahoo! Japan publish fake numbers? You should just be happy for Hikki, selling over 20,000,000 units of the songs and album of HS!

That's right! She deserves it! :luv2:luv2:luv2

I'm very happy for her, for sure, but that doesn't justifies that I like when these fake jumps on the sales number happen. And they're not pretty reliable. Not at all.

Beauty4123 6th July 2008 01:17 AM

i can't see how it's not reliable if it's from yahoo japan, a news site.

ALPHY 6th July 2008 03:49 AM

As long as the numbers are giving a positive promotion of Hikki and her music, I'm happy. :)

KaoriNeko 6th July 2008 03:54 AM

Her sales still amaze me. I love Hikki! :heart
But wait - I'm confused. What's the difference between Physical sales and the ones that Oricon reports?

P.S. - Jacky, you should return to the JE Threads. <3

PSYCHEDELICOdust 6th July 2008 03:57 AM

concerning the numbers for the physical.

i believe they're counting SHIPPED which is what would matter to the record companies since that's what they actually sell (to the record shops and is what gives the record companies their money). the Oricon/Soundscan numbers are actual 'sales' numbers (although taken with a somewhat big grain of salt, since they're multiplied on oricon specifically FOR the places they don't/can't count)

either way, pretty good.

dddaiyamondo 6th July 2008 05:57 AM

^Yeah, there are definitely places that Oricon does not count in its sales.

Those numbers are shipped copies to begin with.
Except for oricon that's talking about physical sales in stores, companies and articles usually publish information regarding shipped copies unless if they write "oricon xxxxx...".

Even RIAJ certificated it as million for shipped copies few weeks ago.
